1. Harlan County- Bears look impressive in Week 1.
2. Johnson Central- Golden Eagles were idle in Week 1, open season with a team from The Great North. Have been dominant in scrimmage action.
3. Belfry- Pirates open with Somerset this week after back to back impressive showings on the scrimmage circuit.
4. Bell County- Bobcats take one on the chin to a strong TN team..but still have the clout to hang near the top.
5. Ashland- A road loss to the defending 2A Champs is not a good thing..but it also is not a bad loss.
Just Missing:
- Raceland/Fairview/Pikeville/Hazard- The 1A Quartet of parity will have their shots in coming weeks, while also bumping each other out of the picture
- Mason County- Royals may be able to make a move in a bit of a down year by simply winning as they are expected.

At this point in the season which is very early but I think the top three has a gap between the others. But, Bell will get better as season go on.

Not only do I agree..but I will go as far as to say I think this is a bit of a down year for the True EKY teams. There is a lot of parity thanks to the 1A teams... but Ashland and Bell are taking a step back it seems and no larger school seems to be taking a major step forward to counter it. Sort of a bridge year in EKY it seems.

There is a pretty big drop off after the top 3 in this poll, not sure about Ashland but I doubt very seriously if Bell could stay within 4 td's of these top 3 teams.

Don't see how bell could be considered in the top power rankings. This team got thumped on there home field. I think Pulaski county should be in the top 5.
