Collins has won the past 2 regional championships and are looking to make it 3 straight this season.
Here are the district previews for district 3 and 4 from the Cats Pause.
District 3:
1. Collins (11-4): Just remember three words: Collins is loaded. The Titans made it all the way to the Class 4A championship game and return 20 starters along with one of the state's best kickers.
2. North Oldham (6-5): Coach Billy Martin has forged a very strong tradition at North Oldham and the Mustangs could be a team to watch in the postseason.
3. Spencer County (7-4): The Bears were a bit of a surprise last year, deafeating North Oldham and nearly taking down Collins on the way to a runner-up finish. Running back Shawn Boykin could lead the Bears to those heights again.
4. Waggener (2-9): Waggener continues to try to rebuild but will be hard pressed to place higher than fourth in the district.
5. Atherton (1-9): Atherton last won more than one game in 2007.
PRESEASON FAVORITE - COLLINS
The foregone conclusion is that Collins is a shoo-in for the district championship it has won every year since the school opened in 2010. North Oldham coach Billy Martin calls the district "Collins and everyone else." That's life when a team has nine seniors on offense, including running back DeAndre Farris, quarterback Lawson Page and some talented lineman. Collins played a tough non-district schedule, they easily won four playoff games before running into Highlands in the 4A final. Lucas hopes the 47-0 loss turns into a lesson for his team. Farris is the key cog in the Titan's explosive offense, but senior quarterback Lawson Page will be a three-year starter and has over 4,500 yards passing and 1,500 yards on the ground in his career. Senior receivers Nathan Sames and Landon Forrest had over 100 catches between them while Kris Jones anchors the line. Junior kicker Blanton Creque has been drawing some major college interest. Collins is so loaded on defense that Lucas has 12 kids who started at least six games, including linebacker Ryan Watkins who started at Eastern last year before transferring to Collins in time for spring practice. Talented linebacker Masai Whyte anchors the middle and rangy Buck Wilson returns on the defensive line.
KEEP AN EYE ON - NORTH OLDHAM
North Oldham has averaged nearly 8 wins a season over the last six years, so last year's 6-5 finish and first round exit from the playoffs might have been a bit of a disappointment, but the Mustangs should be back in form this year. North will have to rebuild the line if it is to have a chance to dethrone Collins, bu the Mustangs have the potential to make an extended playoff run. Seniors Colin Clarke and Austin Metcalf give North Oldham some experience up front. Senior quarterback Keenan Dowd returns to lead the Mustangs' run-oriented offense. Classmate Quentin Shea and junior Arien Beasley, who averaged neaerly seven yards a carry last fall, also return.
2013 PRESEASON PLAYER OF THE YEAR
DeAndre Farris, Collins, Sr., RB, 5-10, 175
Farris edges teammate Lawson Page, his quarterback, as the pick for the district's top player but they could really be a two-headed monster for Collins. Farris had over 1,000 yards rushing and over 1,000 yards recieving last season, and he also had 32 touchdowns. Farris' only drawback for the colleges might be his size, but he is blessed with 4.45 speed in the 40 and possesses great field vision.

5. Fairdale (3-8): The Bulldogs must replace All-District performer Lanham "Boo" Crabtree.
6. Nelson County (6-6): The Cardinals only played one district game last season.
PRESEASON FAVORITE - DOSS
With a slew of talented playmakers and starters returning, the Dragons will enter the season as the favorite to win the district. Coach LaKunta Farmer only graduated fiver players taht saw significant action last season. "I expect us to build on what we did last year," Farmer said. "I only graduated 10 seniors and out of those 10 only five played. Our schedule is a little lighter. We don't play St. Xavier and a couple other teams that were tough for us. I have some great kids coming back. Our expections are to make it to the state championship and I think we can." Valley's Robert Jones i the Preseason Player of the Year but Doss standout DeVonta Moffitt will give him a run for his money. Moffitt can play multiple positions and make plays with his legs or his arm. "He does everything for us," Farmer said. "He can play quarterback, running back, depending on what we are doing on defense he can play safety. He's just a great athlete."
INTRIGUING TEAM - VALLEY
The Vikings should be an exciting team to watch. Coach Preston King returns several talented playmakers, including the district's preseason player of the year Robert Jones. Joining Jones in the backfield will be rnning back Kevonte Mitchell. Last season Mitchell rushed for 986 yards and four touchdowns. He also caught 17 passes for 124 yards and a touchdown. "Our skill positions are strong, but offensive line depth is always an issue."

Collins is the heavy favorite to win region 2, but their top challenger looks to be Doss. Doss is very big and very athletic, and have some great playmakers in DeVonta Moffitt and Dajzon Dukes. A very big and athletic line will help them out. Spencer County and North Oldham will also be challengers for the regional title. Both have run oriented offenses and are very good at what they do. Spencer County has a very speedy running back in Shawn Boykin, and a few other solid backs. Having Robert Jones at QB makes Valley a decent team but I'm not sure how much support he has around him. Western always has a lot of talent but are usually very undisciplined. After that, I don't know much about Nelson County, and the other teams usually struggle.
Here are my own personal rankings of the teams in region 2:
1. Collins
2. Doss
3. Spencer County
4. North Oldham
5. Valley
6. Western
7. Moore
8. Nelson County
9. Waggener
10. Fairdale
11. Atherton

Nice review Blue. I also think Collins is the best of the region.
