Analysis
Itâs time for Georgia Tech to start winning big time. Chan Gailey is coming into his 5th year as coach, and in all honesty they have been major disappointmentsâ¦
Reggie Ball isnât a great QB (he completed only 48 percent of his passes last year), but he has a big targets to throw tooâ¦
Calvin Johnson is a dark horse for Heisman. Again itâs time for him to step upâ¦
Georgia Tech is a true sleeper pick to win the title, but there non-conference schedule is outrageous. I think they lose twice, but a win over Miami gets them to the ACC championship gameâ¦.

11-1 overall (7-1 conference)
6 âswingâ games
Analysis
Larry Coker has taken some heat on South beach, and itâs hard to believe after winning 53 games in five years. Last yearâs Peach Bowl loss caused some changes to the coaching staff, and hopefully that resolves the problem for themâ¦
They have to find a running attack, they havenât had a consistent runner since McGahee left after the 2002 seasonâ¦.
Kyle Wright is going to be a solid QB, but heâs not going to be winning a Heisman trophy eitherâ¦
Miami will only lose once, but that loss will come to the eventually ACC coastal champsâ¦
Virginia Tech
Head Coach: Frank Beamer (146-79-2 overall)

Nov. 25 Virginia W
9-3 overall (5-3 conference)
4 âswingâ games
Analysis
Frank Beamer has done an outstanding job at Virginia Tech. He took a program with poor facilities and a poor record and turned them into contenders every single yearâ¦
I think there offense will struggle this year based on inexperience. Theyâll need some kids to step up in a big fashion to be competitive against the top tier teamsâ¦
Virginia Tech has been somewhat of a surprise over the last couple of years, but I think theyâll have trouble repeating that featâ¦
Virginia Tech will win some games they shouldnât but it still will not be enough to contend for the ACC titleâ¦..
Virginia

Nov. 25 at Virginia Tech L
6-6 overall (3-5 conference)
5 âswingâ games
Analysis
Al Groh has called this a ârebuildingâ season for Virginia, and I agree. This team wasnât exactly explosive last season, and losing their starting QB and RB wont make things betterâ¦
Virginia is one of those teams that consistently gets to six-seven wins, but never makes a ton of noise in terms of the conference.
Marques Hagens was about as tall as my leg, but he did have a nice completion percentage and didnât make a ton of mistakesâ¦..
Virginia will not be as good this year, but itâs hard not seeing them in a bowl⦠Iâm probably being nice, but I really believe in Al Grohâs systemâ¦
North Carolina
Head Coach: John Bunting (24-36 overall)
Last season: 5-6 (no bowl)
# of returning starters: 12 (5 offense, 7 defense)
Returning Leaders:
Passing: Joey Bozich (3-9, 12 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT)

Nov. 11 Georgia Tech L
Nov. 18 NC State L
Nov. 25 at Duke W
3-9 overall (1-7 conference)
â5 swingâ games
Analysis
North Carolina is either halfway decent or really bad every year. I think theyâll be really bad this year, with only 5 offense returning starters and more than likely a Red shirt QB startingâ¦.
John Bunting has to get to a bowl game this year to save his job IMO, and heâs not going to do it. I give UNC credit for scheduling tough non-conference opponents the last several seasons, but itâs really biting them in the buttâ¦..
Itâs hard to believe that a decade ago, Mack Brown had UNC in the top tenâ¦..
North Carolina is going nowhere. I donât see a direction, and I donât think they match last yearâs 5 winsâ¦
Duke
Head Coach: Ted Roof (5-22 overall)
Last season: 1-10 (no bowl)
# of returning starters: 11 (4 offense, 7 defense)
Returning Leaders:
Passing: Zack Asack (90-180, 966 yards, 5 TD, 8 INT)
Rushing: Justin Boyle (134 att, 490 yards)

Nov. 25 North Carolina L
1-11 overall (0-8 conference)
4 âswingâ games
Analysis
Duke is a complete joke in football. They havenât been to a bowl game since 1994, and havenât been competitive for a conference championship since Steve Spurrier won them on in 1989...
Ted Roofâs ass will be as hot as a hot tin roof if he cannot get this turned around, they have been 2-9 and 1-10 the last two seasons, and I donât see it getting betterâ¦
Duke averaged 12 PPG last season in conference, and they lose 7 starters from that team. Theyâll be lucky to average 10 this yearâ¦
Duke is a mess. Mark it up as a guaranteed victory if you play them, and I actually wouldnât be surprised if Richmond beat them the first game of the yearâ¦.
Enjoy...
