Kentucky offers 7th grader
#1
What middle school in Louisville does this kid play for? Thought this was pretty cool.

Kentucky offered a scholarship to seventh-grader Jairus Brents on Thursday after the 13-year-old participated in a football camp at the university this past weekend.

While the offer might cause shockwaves across the college football and recruiting platforms, it is not much reason for celebration for Brents, a Class of 2018 cornerback from Indiana.

"It's not a big deal. It's just an offer," Brents said.

"It's a good accomplishment, but I'm focusing on being the best cornerback ever and working hard."

That's unfortunate. I just found and watched his video. Simply based on the video, I can name about 10 guys right now from Kentucky who UK should be offering at the middle school level.

College football programs have been doing this for years. Nothing to it. Glad we're getting after em' early though!

Let me start by saying I'm not trying to knock this kid or offend anyone. This kid looks like a really good middle school athlete. But, I've seen the best middle school athletes in the state over the past few years. He might be among some of the better athletes in the state, but when you offer a 7th grader he better be one of the best in the nation.

^ Had 4 INT's in the UK camp over the weekend against 2014 players...

Seems pointless to me.

If you notice, no info from anyone at UK, just kid's and reporter's words. Somebody probably just said "we need you at UK" and they ran with it. He's 150lbs. Just rumors created by the media.
