Vero Beach, Fla. — One of the best ways to start off a baseball trip is with a strong pitching performance. Greenup County got that from Seth Boyle.

Boyle threw a complete game as Greenup County defeated West Jessamine 2-1 on Sunday at the Vero Beach, Fla., Sports Village.

The senior struck out six, allowed just three hits, walked one and gave up an unearned run after throwing 108 pitches in the Musketeeers first game in Florida.

Both teams managed three hits, but West Jessamine took an early 1-0 lead in the fourth with a two-base error, followed by a wild pitch.

Greenup County put the game away in the sixth, after Will McCall and Casey Stiltner reached on errors.

Senior Jonah Stanley had a pinch-hit RBI single, which was followed by a Karson Glancy run-scoring single to right field.

Boyle then sat down West Jessamine in order in the sixth, and the game was capped off by a McCall diving catch in center field.

Greenup County (4-1) is in action again at Vero Beach today, when it takes on Medina, Ohio.

The game can be heard on 105.7 WLGC, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
