North did bust it open early, winning easily 12-1 in five innings. With six seniors and eight of nine starters back from a team that made the final six a year ago, they look like the class of the 13th, 14th, 15th and a possible state contender.
They'll get a good early gauge next weekend when they play Ballard and Owensboro Catholic in the Ballard Invitational.
