Morgan County 2013
#1
The Cougars return 1st team All-Stater JT Brown, All-State H.M. Jared Short and All-State H.M., District Player Of The Year Kody Thornsberry all for their senior seasons. Last season starters Clevenger(sr), Crouch(sr), Banks(sr), Adams(sr), Havens(sr), Mcguire(sr), Turner(sr), Debusk(sr) all return for Morgan. Plus returning back to the team is seniors Tyler Netherly and Austin Akers, both should be impact players. Juniors Hunter Adams, Kordell Smith and Bryce Cox also return for Morgan. The Cougars coming off back to back 8-3 seasons return alot of starters and talent. Injuries hurt the Cougars late in the season but all those are back and healthy. Could this be Morgan's year to win the district?

I think the Cougars will definitely be a top contender if not the top contender to win a District title... don't get me wrong, they are losing a lot of talent with graduation to several outstanding seniors, Collins, Whitt, Crase, Holbrook (who was out the entire season with knee injury), and all the other wonderful seniors, but my point is they are coming off back to back 8-3 seasons and the 2012 season was without many of their starters for several games... I think I heard Coach Turner say at one time they had 7 starters out !! not counting Joe Holbrook (possibly the best player they had) and to still come out with a record of 8-3.... they are definitely returning some talented players and this entire team and community knows how to overcome adversity...Well.... GOOD LUCK COUGARS!!!
