Help for rule understanding....
#1
my question is...
A year or two ago from my understanding during the football off season you could not use the football field or practice field to throw or do any football activity before spring practice starts. Now from my understanding they have changed the rules on this. My question is this, with the given rules changes are you allowed to go out to the game field or practice field and throw and do some organized drills without pads and any school identifiable clothing? Meaning can you take you oline outside and do o-line work , like blocking principals before the spring practice time starts?
I think you can if you involve kids who might want to play football with this open gym principal football now has?

That is a very good question and but I'm not sure on it either. If I understand it right I still don't think you can do any football related stuff until spring practice, just weights and conditioning is all you can do but I'm not 100% sure on that myself. I would also like to know more if anyone has the answer on this matter.

You can do anything you want without helmets or pads during the offseason (minus the dead period).

That is what I thought. Do you know where that new rule is? Is it under bylaw 25, because that bylaw is cloudy in areas and specific in others. I might need to just call or email the KHSAA to confirm or deny.

I couldn't tell you specifically. I just remember getting the email that was sent out when it got changed.

As long as your not wearing pads, you can more or less do anything you please, except for the dead period.
