Kentucky and North Carolina Will Renew Their Rivalry
Kentucky Wildcats. North Carolina Tar Heels. When thinking of those two teams, it is almost impossible to not think about two of the best college basketball programs of all-time. Although these two teams were not scheduled to meet this season in the regular season, they will go head-to-head the next two seasons.
Kentucky is back on North Carolinaâs schedule and North Carolina is back on Kentuckyâs schedule. All is right in the world now. Kentucky will play on the road in the 2013-14 college basketball season and the Wildcats will be at home in the 2014-15 season. Seems fair to me.
In case if you donât remember, these two heavyweights met up last year in a very exciting match-up, with the Wildcats barely winning with a final score of 73-72. Although both teams were favorites to win the national championship last seasonâwith Kentucky winning it all and the Tar Heels making it all the way to the Elite Eightâboth teams could possibly miss the dance altogether this year.
What is the tournament when Kentucky and North Carolina are not lacing up their dance shoes? I guess it is still the NCAA tournament, but it definitely isnât the same without those two.
The Wildcats and Tar Heels have played each other many times, however, North Carolina leads the all-time series 22-13. Donât worry Kentucky fans, at least your team has won the last two match-ups.
Whether if these two teams miss the tournament or not this season, you can bet that their match-up against each other will be one of the most looked forward to games in the 2013-14 college basketball season.
