The good folks at Cordia must be very benevolent....just helping out the whole region with the traveling all stars.
If you can play, coaches will find you. They don't need Cordia to be discovered. :please:

Khsaa12, what are the names of the players waiting on decisions still? I searched old threads and couldn't find them.

you guys are so contradictory...one person says Cordia players are sitting in on UK practices, one guy says as long as Cordia isn't paying them or giving them transportation then it's ok...well tell me, if these guys came here to get away from bad situations, how are they getting the money to go watch UK practice?! KHSAA12, I agree when you say that top players playing against them will get recognized too. But to keep it on the subject like Strike King warned us to do, Cordia IS very talented, but they haven't blown ANY team out of the water yet. Even Letcher gave them a really good run, so let's just wait and see how the rest of the season goes...

Felix Frimpong an Fritz Lucin. Felix was ruled ineligible until next season(5'10 guard). Was told Fritz could be eligible at any time now(6'8 forward). Both sophomores.

How many students that don't play basketball come to Cordia from far enough out of the area that they would need to live in the dorms?
There are not many students that comes to cordia that dont play basketball. If regular students stay in the dorms than it want be any issues. However, if only the basketball players stay in the dorms and this could be an issue down the road. Also if the parents are staying in dorms and are not paying for any rent or anything than it also becomes an issue with eligibilty down the road.

FYI. Back in the day, say 1960's Cordia did have a girls dorm and a boys dorm that served students who lived in the hollows from Knott, Perry and sometimes Leslie Co. The Creekers still call these buildings the girls dorm and the boys dorm. However, Lotts Creek Community School, the organization that owns these buildings and grounds has converted most of the building on campus into apartments that are rented and have legit 911 addresses. Much like the old Hazard High School building. Three teachers, a bus driver, and other families live in these apartments. Just to clear things up a little bit.

Cordia is not doing anything any different than has been and is being done all over the state for many years. It has become a true art in all the eastern regions.
Some get investigated. Some do not. As the rules of "Animal Farm" by Orwell state, "All animals are equal but some are more equal than others." That quote could well be applied to KHSAA and its selective "enforcement".
Good luck, Cordia. Beat them with their own medicine.

Cordia is very similar to Rose Hill during the OJ Mayo years. It is very simple to transfer within the KHSAA rules. Read them before you transfer and if you pay attention it is very easy to become eligible.

All these schools in the 14th and even the 13th regions can bring in as many transfers as they want and beat up on other region teams. But when they step out into the state and play it seems the results are all the same. I think we have 2 of the weakest 3 regions in the state and kids transferring back and forth between schools isn't helping. I hope somebody, somewhere, can build a good program here in the mountains that can compete year in and year out on a statewide level.

I think only one kid on the roster is Not from knott county.kids leave jbs when they get into high school a lot, and not just basketball players.justice is the only one that came from another county, and they actually bought a house, plus he was eligible to go anywhere he wanted.thats not transferring.how many on cordia s roster has lived in knott co. their whole lives???????

Speak for yourself. The 13th region may be 1 of the weakest but the 14th is not. Top teams in the 14th KCC,PCC,Hazard, and Cordia are all looking tough. This region is as tough as it has been in a long time. We will see how these teams play out in the state when the two regions meet in the first round of the Sweet Sixteen. I don't know what you mean out in the state but last few years 14th has done better. KCC won Fayette tourney last year and now in ALL A with chance to win and last year almost State tourney semi-finals. PCC has played tough schedule last few years and done very well. Their 5 losses have been to Scott Co x2, Lafayette, Bishop Brossart, Simon Kenton, not too bad considering all these teams are in the top of their respective regions. Hazard is tough and could have been in State tourney semi-finals a few years ago had they not had a second half where they made only 1 or 2 field goals. Cordia is having a breakout year in which they are showing they can play with anybody. So when you say 13th and 14th are 2 of the weakest regions in the state speak for yourself because while the 13th is in a demise the 14th is on the rise.

You really think that the 14th is one of the better regions in the state? When was the last time the 14 advanced past the quarterfinals of the state tourney? Until a region can can compete year in and year out they are not considered as a threat. You may have a school pop up every so often and contend but that is the exception and not the rule.
