The district is as even as I've ever seen it. I would say Estill County would have to be considered a slight favorite. They're hosting the district tournament and when teams are fairly evenly matched that's always a plus. Also they have more size than the other 3 teams. I haven't seen them this year, just followed the updates and scores on here, but Owsley County plays them Friday in Irvine and I'm going to try to catch that game.

Way too close to call. Any of the four. Who ever is hitting on any given night.

Would have to go with Estill as the favorite. They have lost 2 guards due to injury and they still have a slight advantage on the other 3. They also have the most prepared coach out of the 4. I believe Powell is starting to play better and they also have some help at the coaching position. He does a great job preparing his team for games and they are starting to listen and execute what he is asking them to do. I believe that Estill and Powell have far superior coaches and it will show come tournament time. Owsley has one player in the Allen kid, who is a very good player and Lee has a couple of young kids that are playing well and can get hot shooting the 3 on any given night. Right now I believe it is:
1. Estill
2. Lee
3. Owsley
4. Powell
But I think in the next couple of weeks that will change and Lee and Owsley will drop and Powell will move up the ladder. Will be a tough 2/3 matchup in the district between Lee/Powell to see who can advance against Estill in the finals. Good luck to all the 56th teams.

IMO, Estill Co and Lee Co are the top two teams in the district. Lee Co easily has the most experienced team and perhaps the most talented starting 5 but, Estill has the height advantage and I would have to give them the slight edge. Although, Lee Co is the hottest team right now having won 5 in a row including the Red River Classic. So right now it would be, IMO:
1. Estill/Lee
3. Owsley
4. Powell

3. Owsley
4. Powell

After Friday's Owsley at Estill game, the picture will clear a little. Estill wins and they are very close to the number 1 seed and Owsley would be in danger of opening the door for Powell to get out of the 4th seed. Owlsy wins and Powell is the 4th seed and everybody else is alive for the 1 seed. Nobody has stood out to the point where they are a lock. District is up for grabs. The team that continues to get better as the year goes on will win the district so everybody get to the gym and work hard and get better.
