Loneliness
#1
That rich or lonely thread got me to thinking........... not knowing many people and knowing too many people can both make you lonely........ agree, disagree, or never been to either extreme??

I agree.

If you don't know enough then you get all depressed and only because you don't have the company and you get all pitiful and think that you don't have friends and stuff.

On the other hand people can be lonely in a room full of people. They make think that those that surround them are fakes, they don't fit in, they are jealous of what others have and they don't, etc. Basically they may see that the people aren't there true friends or aren't what they are looking for and feel lonely in that aspect...

Besides the not fitting in aspect, knowing too many people could also be lonely because you're not intimate with anyone, everyone's just another number. That's how I used to be, people would say "How can you be lonely, everyone comes to see you and loves you?" And it was true, but it was like everybody was just part of a huge group.

well naturally not knowing anyone will make you lonely.. But i think the latter depends on your personality.. Some people have to be around a lot of people to feel comfortable.. whereas some people are more comfortable one on one..

I think, for the most part, that the people who need people around are just insecure and looking for outlets. Granted that this isn't true for all people who need to be around people, but I think that's also why people get into drugs: to feel part of something and sometimes just to make them feel different.

Like I said, I know this isn't the case with everyone, but it's just what I think is the case with some people
