Who is the Rookie of the Year?
#1
We are now 10 games into the NFL season for most teams, so now is a realistic time to begin looking at who is worthy of this award.

I will throw some candidates out, feel free to add more:

Doug Martin- RB - Tampa Bay
264 carries, 1234 yards 10 TD's
33 catches, 378 yards, 1 TD.
Only one fumble in 13 games!
Team Record: 6-7

RG3 - QB - Washington
67%, 2906 yards, 17 TD's, 4 INT's
6.7 YPCarry, 748 yards, 6 TD's
10 fumbles, 2 lost.
Team Record: 7-6

Andrew Luck - QB - Indianapolis
57% 3792 yards, 18 TD's 18 INT's
4.7 YPCarry, 219 yards, 5 TD's
10 fumbles, 5 lost.
Team Record: 9-4

I want to acknowledge that Russell Wilson and Alfred Morris are also having good years but RG3, Martin & Luck's numbers are better.
#3
Right now...I'd say RG III has it wrapped up.
#4
IMO, RGIII has it rapped up because of the pre-season hype machine. But to me, it has been Doug Martin who has done more for his team having a better win/loss record for his team than RGIII.

FYI LWC, after yesterday, Redskins 5-6
#5
I will continue updating records and stats if I can remember.
#6
At this point, I think it's RGIII too.
#7
^no doubt !!!!

Poor Andrew Luck. Any other year if a rookie QB has OVER 3000 yards, more TD's than INT's, and leads a team to a 7-4 record after being 2-14 the previous season, they would be a runaway rookie of the year.

That appears to be the story of his life....if you recall he came 2nd runner up to Heisman voting two years in a row. Looks like that "Luck" has followed him into the NFL as well...

RG3 will probably win it, but Luck is doing a great job.
#12
RG3 will win it. Luck, Martin, and Russell Wilson are all more deserving though. RG3 just has this unbelievable amount of hype, and playing in the nations capitol certainly helps the cause. Let's just remember though, Washington really isn't THAT bad of a team, and the majority of RG3's passes aren't really down the field, medium, short range or screen that receivers turn inot more has been the Washington offense. Luck was stuck into an offense with Reggie Wayne, and..well..Reggie Wayne to go along with a deteriorating defense and the Colts stand before us today on the verge of the playoffs. Martin also came into a good situation where the team isn't that bad of a team just has been marred by inconsistency. Wilson has been phenomenal given his situation.
#13
Andrew Luck, changed the Colts from losers last year to competitors.
#14
RG3 has the MNF stage tomorrow. If he has a monster game, he might sow it up. The only way I think he loses it now is if the Skins take a tail slide and the Colts have a great record.
#15
Russell Wilson has played a fantastic game today. He has a QB rating of 92.2 and he has 43 rushing yards as well. They are in OT against the Bears at Soldier field.
#16
Luck has 341 yards, 3 TD's and 3 INT's today against the Lions. Just threw a 42 yard TD pass with 2:47 left in the 4th quarter to make it a 1 possession game against the Lions.
#17
That was an awesome game winning drive.
