College Looking @ 15th Region Players?
#31
I just hope he decides to wear socks of the same color and height. IDK what's up with that high red one and the low white one, is there some kind of special meaning behind that?

I look for a few underestimated players to make a name for themselfs real early in the season. But no, I dont think any single player on any team will dominate every team they play against. I think from game to game, different players will dominate a game here and there, but not every game or every player.

Meeks and Pugh were not put on any list for scoring and dominating purposes. They were mentioned for their DEFENSIVE abilities. Ask anyone in the Region that has had one of these two guard them and they will tell you that these boys will wear you out. As for Lowe, the night they played at PHS, he looked as if he needed oxygen in the first half. He was worn slap out. When Pugh got in some foul trouble though and had to come out, Lowe lit it up.

And noone put words in your mouth Corndog. Did you see any quotation marks around the word dominate in my post?NOPE! Spud is a Great player and a Great kid. But for him to do what you say he will do. He is going to need some help around him to help create some space for him. Good Luck to the Cards next season. To be honest with ya. I hope he does do what you say next year cause I love watchin' him play.

Look, it doesn't matter how much you score, if you can't play defense, rebound, and play the other parts of the game well, no D-1 school is going to look at you. As I said in my earlier post, everyone on the bench in D-1 was the "star" at their high school (i.e. - they can all score points!). What D-1 coach wants 15 scorers on his team? Coaches look for that special kid who makes others around him better and want to help the team first. If you score 30 a game and lose on a consistant basis, teams will not look at you. They want players who know how to win and can help their team. Remeber college coaches depend on these kids to keep their jobs, so if you can't help them sorry, you're gone!!

Spud probably needs to grow a little, but Greg Davis was 5'6- 5'7 and had offers from a few D1's. He does need to improve tremendously, he's nowhere near D1 right now. He's a gym rat though who lives for basketball and only basketball so I'm just saying imo he has a shot. He needs to improve his overall playmaking skills and on the ball defense as well as get tougher and take a darn charge. He is the best shooter up to 20ft I know personally and I know some good ones including Ervin Stepp. He will get his teammates good looks next year but we all know that SC is not a powerhouse team. I'm thinking he'll be judged more by what he does on his summer team where he is surrounded by very good players. He attends several high profile camps during the summer months so his name will be out there. Spud will avg around 18-25pt and 6-8 asts next year, mark it down. If I'm wrong quote me next year and I'll eat some crow.

I will throw my opinion in the hat, Spud is a very good 15th region player. He is fast and a good shot. But D1, sorry but I dont see it at all. Way, way too small. In order to be D1 and this small you must be special, I mean extra special. Wish him the best.

try this on!! No disrespect for crum but look back at former 15th region stars. Such as J. Akers pikeville-mike hall-sf-T. wright-sv just to name a few would didnt get the looks from the bigger schools. I dont think Crum is in their class, he is a nice high school player, not a big time recruit.

Is any colleges looking at anyone besides Crum? This is turning out to be a one person thread.

JR, what's up, man? It's Porter. I was trying to add something to what you said...but I can't. You're spot on. It doesn't take much to score. Hard work and commitment to winning and playing all phases of the game are what seperates A-league intermural guys and real players.

By the way, send me your email address in a private message.
