I was at that game. Casey lead the whole game, 14-0 until TT Knight made a big play with no time left on the clock at the half, the Casey kid went to bat the ball down or intercept it instead of simply tackling the kid. Belfry coverts the 2 points, it's 14-8. Casey turns the ball over a few times in the 3rd and TT Knight drives but is caught on a 3rd or 4th and long and get a pass interference call where their receiver ran into the DB and pushed him 7 yards downfield and the Bobcats get it on the 25 or 30. They use some good play with a fairly mobile quarterback who can run, or fake the run to pass, although if pressured he will throw you one up for grabs. They score on a 4th and 1 with the QB sneak and then pass for the 2 points and go up 16-14 with about 4 minutes. Casey gets the ball back with about 4 minutes to go in the 4th. Casey was driving with a little over 3 minutes to go. Their workhorse running back had taken them 50 yards down the field in about 45 seconds to the 10 yard line or so. The nail in the coffin for the Casey team was the last run by their #33 who hit the two hole and fought through 2 or 3 tackles, the refs blow the play dead even though he was on his feet. So the play is technically over but the kid is still running and rips loose from a tackler and then trips on a defender and lands on his rear and back, ball comes out. The Rebels are ready to get back and huddle up for an offensive play and the referee says, fumble, TT Knight recovers. Everyone in the booth with us was like what the heck, kid was down or the play was dead, either way, most of us didn't even know a fumble had been indicated. Kind of a weird game with Casey dominating the game on the ground, but a wet muddy field leading to 4 turnovers and TT Knight making some big plays. TT Knight hurt themselves early with penalty after penalty of illegal motion and false starts. They were holding the bigger Casey defensive line every play which was never called. Still, a good game all in all but a had to be hard to take.
