Collins @ North Oldham
#1
Thoughts and predictions.

Collins continues to get gashed directly up the middle by the run. They must find a way to bolster their defense between the tackles if their run defense is to improve. This along with their tackling has been horrible. North Oldham is just the type of offense that exposes these type of flaws and capitalizes on them. If Collins does not clean this up they will lose this game.
#3
If Collins plays defense like they have North Oldham will rush for over 400 yards.

Agreed. Collins tackling looks like a love session, a lot reaching and hugging. Nobody drives/runs through people when tackling. They either decelerate or wait for the ball carrier to initiate the contact. They must start playing on their toes in a football position and run through the ball carriers when they tackle.

I agree. Friday night there was a noticeable difference between the way Shelby County was tacking and Collins was tackling. Shelby County was going after people and running through them, while Collins was sitting back and reaching and falling while the ball carrier ran right by them. They really need to step it up on defense if they want to make any type of run in the playoffs, and they definitely need to play much better defense this week if they want to have a chance to win.

Things will be easier to defend against NO than they where the last 2 weeks.
NO will line it up and run right at you. Last 2 weeks has been running teams with alot of misdirection. Seems like there has been more assingment breakdow rather than fundamentals.
Just remember, Collins D has steped up when needing to. I agree they must make some improvments to keep advancing.

This game could decide homefield advantage thru the playoffs.

I disagree. NO runs a lot of counters and misdirection along with the power game. Their problems would arise if they put the ball on the ground while handing it off. There definitely has been assignment breakdown but you can do everything flawless and still come up empty if they can't seal the deal with good tackling.

Collins biggest problem is that they are a passive team on both sides of the ball. They need to develop a nasty streak and play smash mouth football. If they don't there will be no need to get overly worried about home field advantage in the playoffs as they will not be around very long.

Collins' D has stepped up when they need to, but only at the end of the game when if they don't they will lose. If they can play defense like they do on the last drive of the game the whole game, they will be fine.

Sounds about right to me. This will probably be another high scoring game. The winner will likely be the district champion. If Collins wins they will be district champs, because there is no way they will lose to Waggener or Atherton, but if North Oldham wins, they still have to win at Spencer County.

Collins' strong passing game will keep them ahead inspite of their defense

Taking Collins in this one. 28-17

I don't think N. Oldham has seen the speed Collins has on both sides of the ball this year yet. That being said, their D is terrible. They just have to outscore N. Oldham. Team with the ball last wins.

I see our buddy Jason Frakes like NO 31-27.
