Paintsville 19 Lawrence Co. 7 (5 innings)
#1
Jonathan Miller the winning pitcher for Paintsville. Losing pitcher for Lawrence was Chandler Shepherd. Nasty game but Paintsville put together two big innings to pull off the win. Paintsville senior Kevin Williams went 3 for 4 with 4 RBI's and hit his 2nd HR of the season.

Good win p-ville

Paintsville's field was in decent shape after the showers. The baselines weren't really soggy, but it was wet for sure. Paintsville played great today and rebounded well after the loss to Sheldon Clark. Good game Tigers!!

I guess most of the rain stayed up this way Bat. About halfway through the heavy stuff I had to go towards Paintsville and at that time they hadn't gotten very much.

Big win for the Tigers get them next time Dawgs.

Good Game 2 both teams

Paintsville bounced back great. Lawrence County transfer, Corey Humphrey, played a great game. He was pumped all day and went 2-3 and got walked once. He is a great asset to PHS. Good game Paintsville and way to throw the ball "WASPER"!!

Andrew Brown and Kevin Williams have been pounding the ball the last 3 games, Humphrey was pumped up and played with all his heart today. Congrats to the Tigers! Keep the bats going guys.
Miller pitched a really good game. They had a couple of hits off of him here and there, but that's part of it. I like the way he hung in there until his last pitch. J.D. came in and did a great job to close the game off.

How many innings did Shepherd pitch? Isn't he thirteen years old?

Yes he is 13 and is in 7th grade.

Well he must be a dandy pitcher thenSmile

I have saw him play. He is a good player, but I think Keeton was either sandbagging or out of pitching. Shepard is a good young talent, I think it is great to steal these young kids an inning or two.

I would also like to know what the deal is with the high scores. For example, the LC and Paintsville game. I understand that Coach K may be sandbagging....but he has done the same thing for years. Why put a 7th grader in (for more than 1 or 2 innings) when in the end the only ones to suffer is the older guys who had a lot riding on this game.

Yes, he's 13-7th grader. Bright young talent for LC that will continue to get stronger

Hey, the older guys aren't the only ones who "suffer" in a game like that. The older guys were so hyped up about playing an ex-bulldog that errors killed them early on. Give kudos where they are due-Shepherd was 4-0 going into that game and is part of LC's regular rotation. Not sure sandbagging had anything to do with it-kid was put in a hostile situation that wasn't his fault

Guess to Keaton when you don't have to worry about seeding, there's not a lot riding on any game other than pride.

Well dd "kudos" should be given to all of the boys that was a difficult game for everyone. I really don't know why all of the defensiveness towards Shepherd came from, noone blames him for the game. As a matter of fact, he did well for his age. If you will read my comment, the person in question was Coach Keaton.

Sorry Tweeter-no offense was taken towards Shepherd-ALL the boys did the best they could and it really was a good game all in all. I certainly didn't mean Shepherd was the ONLY player to give "kudos" to-they all deserve it, both teams.
