ok, I snuck out to the field late yesterday evening and it is amazing....the home side bleachers are HUGE....it goes from back of the endzone to back of the endzone....I bet there are 2,000 seats that are chairback....As a Harlan Countian I am so proud of what was just built....we don't have a lot here in Harlan County but I believe we have the most amazing school, gym, baseball and softball fields and now a football field....the kids in Harlan County have something they can be proud of.

I sure hope it is ready by the time the Colonels Roll into Town. To many bad memories @ old Caywood High School.:yikes::yikes::yikes:

To be honest I hope it is ready for the Whitley game too....I think that game is MUCH more important than the Bell game....not that the Bell game is not important but the Whitley COULD come down to being the district championship and having home field advantage through the first 4 weeks of the play-offs

I wish someone that was technology smart would down load a picture from the visitors side to the home side....I mean it is HUGE....can't get over it.

I would but the last time I went out there I thought I was going to get arrested. Better stay away until it's finished!

You are right...they have tight security out there right now....I went in from the back side with camo on with a navy seal to help me sneak in....there is high security there...which is a good thing.

Here's to hoping Harlan County and Belfry can hook up for a few years, CAM and Harlan County's place look to be two of the nicest in Eastern KY, would love to get to see this stadium in person every other year... plus good football games in good atmospheres too. Sounds like a winning combo.

You can't tell 90% of the Harlan Co. fans that. :HitWall:
The Whitley game will be huge.

Whats silly is that 90% of opposing fans think we in Harlan County care which game we open the stadium with, cuz we don't care we just want open regardless if it with the 9th grade versus the 8th grade ina scrimmage.
Fact is that it will not be open for a certain team but just when it gets done with this phase.
No one is picking the game out to open it up for:ChairHit:

I think it's great the kids really deserve it they have needed new schools for a long time, it's like starting over i think getting dudley and that new school about the same time really did something for the program here in bell county, teach them to take pride in they're school and if the mining jobs stay around for them to have enough kids they can really build something great good for you.

None of the trophies at the school are from former high schools. They have all been one by HCHS students.

I don't know if they have or not. That is a good question for HDE.
