Dusty is SICK! I'm tired of hearing NFL players whine, moan and complain about the fact that they; 1) Do not have guaranteed Contracts 2) NFL Commissioner is the Judge and Jury!
I'm tired of these guys constantly complaining to the media about these two injustices! Two soundbites that just went through me today - MJD explaining his reason for a holdout was due to his need to "Get paid now because he could get cut next year and his family could go hungry", and Jonathan Vilma's complaint that Roger Goodell "should not have the power to make all decisions regarding players conduct and discipline".
OK, I get it! Their points are 100% justified an warranted. They have echoed sentiments that we have been hearing for a very long time - BUT :dontthink
Didn't we just sit through this idiotic holdout for 6 months? What in the hell were the negotiating all that time? These uneducated meat-heads cared nothing about anything other than their "SHARE" of revenues! I'm so sick of hearing about players holding out or their complaints about the commissioners POWERS, yet they did NOTHING to overturn or protect themselves on these two points of contention!
All we heard in the media after the negotiations ended was how "Goodell is the ONLY voice from the NFL offices on player matters". The Saints situation was already decided before the negotiations ended, yet the players agreed, yet again, to LET the commissioner dictate their entire playing lives! James Harrison spent the entire year last year as the "Voice of the players" against the evil Goodell, yet the 6 month negotiations gave the commissioner even more power than he had before, and the players agreed with it???????
As Cris Carter would say

If the players were really concerned about their contracts being secure and not having a commissioner who can dictate their entire lives, then where were these idiots during the negotiations?????

Dusty, it's like any other union in this country....complete BS

All unions ever did for me was take $36.00 a month out of my check for nothing in return. When I needed them, they did nothing. I hate them

I hate hearing NFL players whine about concussions. Nobody held a gun to their head and made them play. Besides, they were well compensated.
