Two defending state champions and four other defending regional champions from Kentucky highlight the field announced for the 2012 Canfield Development King of the Bluegrass boys’ basketball tournament.

The tournament is set for Dec. 19-23 at Fairdale High School.

Trinity, the defending state champion in Kentucky, and Nashville Christ Presbyterian, which won Tennessee’s Class 2-A title last season, are among the top teams in the field. Christ Presbyterian, which features one of the nation’s top juniors in Jalen Lindsey, won the KOB last year.

Along with Trinity, other defending regional champions from Kentucky in the field will be Hopkinsville (Second Region) Apollo (Third Region), Bowling Green (Fourth Region) and Bullitt East (Sixth Region).

Other Kentucky schools in the field will be Ballard, Butler, Collins, Fairdale, Madison Central, Pleasure Ridge Park and St. Xavier.

Along with Christ Presbyterian, the other out-of-state teams in the field will be Philadelphia Electrical and Technology (PET) Charter, Phoenix Mountain Pointe and Brooklyn (N.Y.) South Shore.

Pairings for the tournament will be announced at a later date.

Sounds like the making of a great holiday tournament. I think the field will definitely top the WYMT Classic lol!!!!! Trinity and Ballard 6th Region favorites, Bullitt East 7th Region favorites, Bowling Green 4th Region favorites, Collins 8th Region favorites, Madison Central 10th Region contenders, I don't see anyone from the 12,13,14 or 15???????
