Betsy Lane 48 South Floyd 28
#1
Not much defense on either side of the ball tonight, especially from South Floyd. Both teams gave up a ton of yards. Betsy Lane did have a couple of nice redzone stops tonight though, stuffing SF on their opening drive on 4 straight downs from inside the 5, and forcing a turnover late in second quarter.

Betsy Lane ran or passed at will all night. SF didn't get much pressure on the QB tonight either. The BL QB mostly rolled out to his right and would hit open receivers all night. SF got burnt several times when he rolled out, twice on 4th and long plays, with both resulting in scores.

Anyway, it was entertaining game to watch from an offensive standpoint. However, both teams need to a lot of work on defense. Congratulations to the Bobcats. Your new field looks great too.

Btw, anyone know what happened to Weston Little? He was taken out of the game in the first quarter and didn't return until the second half. And when will Cory Thornsberry return to the lineup? They definitely could have used him on defense tonight.

Saw the highlights on Sports Overtime....

Nice to see Betsy Layne with the turf.... And breaking it in right with a big W over an In-County team.

I've refereed several games at BL in the past, glad to see BL making much needed improvements to their complex.

I chose to pick SF as I saw that Betsy lane's D wasn't up to par in the season opener against Bracken Co. Turn's out that South Floyd's D was that good either. I will concede I was wrong on the outcome but both teams need to work on there D. Glad to see Betsy lane win the game. I am a supporter of all schools. Very nice field as well Bobcat's the future is looking up for BL athletics.

SF has a lot of size, but honestly, the way they hit friday, they would have a hard time busting a water balloon. BL was more aggressive and really wanted it more. Little went out early with vomiting, possible shoulder or head injury, but recovered well in the second half. Most of the offense from SF came from stellar efforts from their backs, I can't understand the lack of effort by the big guys, and their defense hasnt actually stopped anybody in the last 5 years, its time for new schemes!

Well I know south Floyd pretty good and they have a lot of great players but the biggest problem of it all is that the coach cant coach his way out of a paper bag
#Raider Naiton needs a new coach That won't run it up the middle ever time

Donnie is a good coach and I think the offense will be ok. The defense needs some new schemes or atleast get out of that 3-4 they was in or Donnie needs to take charge of his defense. It didnt work and they just stayed in it. Defense needs some help and your right those boys especially in the secondary dont want to hit. I think the return of Cory Thornsbury will help things in the middle and be a load in the backfeild getting some of the load off Little. I absolutely loved the wildcat look they other night though.

Are these the 2 worst teams in the state?

Wide left, that was the best comment ever! I bet it took you all night to think of that comment.

I don't know. Pendleton County might give them a run for their money.

^LOL. Congrats BL.

Congrats to BL on a big win on their new field. But SF just didn't have nothing going for them all week. they had multiple players out through the week with the flu and infections. none of them were 100% and their coach did run the same play about 5+ times in one offensive series. but you also have to look about little being out the whole first half and then I also heard the dye said he was about to pass out a couple of times so health was a big hurt to the raiders. The raiders also have probabally one of the biggest lines in the district. I mean they didn't get the nickname "Tonage" for nothing. Just wait when they get rolling we will be looking at a 7-3 atleast a 6-4 sf team. Good luck to all.
