Jody Demling's Class of 2015 Rankings
#1
The Class of 2014 is loaded in the state of Kentucky and college coaches have already started to take note of a strong Class of 2015.

The class already has some star power with the top few players.

And at this point I am only ranking the top 15. I will add a few names that were close to making my listing of top 15.

With that said, I know there are others. In fact, I haven’t seen all of the Ballard kids that I heard were solid, but I’m ONLY RANKING KIDS I HAVE SEEN.

So, there will be an omission of two – let me know if you know someone I need to see.

But for now, here are the top 15 and a few names to watch:

• 1. Camron Justice, Knott County Central, 6-2, G – He plays so mature and so heady. Loved his game from the first time I saw him. He’s going to be special.

• 2. Raymond Spalding, Trinity, 6-9, F – He’s injured now but has already drawn calls from the staffs at Louisville and Kentucky.

• 3. Jeremiah Tisdale, Henry Clay, 6-1, G – Was the best player at State AAU in his division. Very steady guard.

• 4. JaQualis Matlock, Hopkinsville, 6-5, F – When he becomes more consistent on both ends, Matlock could move up a few spots.

• 5. Matt Rose, Lexington Christian, 6-6, F – He does a little bit of everything. So solid.

• 6. Justin Miller, Ohio County, 6-6, C

• 7. Jeremiah Bell, Butler, 5-9, G

• 8. Evan Hall, Knott County Central, 6-5, F

• 9. Isaiah Collier, Pulaski Southwestern, 6-4, F

• 10. Shon Wright, Lafayette, 6-6, C

• 11. Zac Baxter, South Laurel, 6-4, G

• 12. Simon Christon, Knott County Central, 6-3, F

• 13. Sam Sergeant, Apollo, 5-11, G

• 14. Nick Coffey, Russell County, 6-5, F

• 15. Michael Stafford, Trinity, 6-0, G

(Others just missing the cut)

Rashawn Robinson, Ballard

Jalen Perry, Ballard

Christian Thieneman, Trinity

Damien Harris, Madison Southern

Trenton Thompson, Harrison County

Benton Nighbert, Lexington Christian

Lucky Jackson, Lafayette

Will Parker, Male

Desmond Duke, Tates Creek

William Johnson, Butler

Brent Kidwell, Collins

Jax Levitch, Trinity

Richard Gaines, PRP

Matthew Barger, Knox Central

Jacob Conway, Lincoln County

Congrats to Southwestern's Isaiah Collier!

Congradulations to Jeremiah Tisdale, Justin Miller, Isiah Collier, Zac Baxter, Nick Coffey, and Damien Harris, who are all members of the state champion Hoop Dreams Central Ky Tiger basketball team. Good luck at nationals!
#4
Congrats to Cameron Justice!! nice player
#5
Before its all said and done I look for Knott County Central to have a fourth player on this list. That being Chance Cornett.
#6
Another kid to see is at Trinity also, Daniel Ramser, he was the only freshman to start the last ten games of the JV season last year. He is gonna be one of those complete players that you cannot win without.

Not sure the Class of 2015 has as much star power as 2014 but it has a lot of depth. With that being said this is obviously just ranking the kids Demling has seen. He obviously hasn't watched McDaniel from Clay County play. I think him and Barger from Knox are both clearly ahead of Baxter as of now. The Matlock kid is an absolute hoss. I haven't seen the Spalding kid from Trinity but will definitely watch him at some point this year.

Nice list but really don't see much from Eastern Kentucky except for Knott Central. Suggestions for teams to look at who have very talented sophomores in East Kentucky... Betsy Layne, Johnson Central, Perry Central, Shelby Valley and Prestonsburg.
#9
Not a whole lot in that class on this side of the state. I think 2016 will have more to offer though.

Would you believe the Catspause yearbook has Evan Hall rated the 8th best player in the 14th region this year? Just shows you the talent in the mountains.

How about all the talent that has moved into the mountains?

McDaniel doesn't play in the summer, right?
That's where everyone is seen by writers like Demling, except at the state tournament. I would have thought he'd have seen him there though.
The other thing that hurts McDaniel and Barger on lists like this is height.
Plus, I guess everyone expects McDaniel to play golf in college anyway.
I wasn't that big on Baxter until I saw him in the regional last year. I don't think I'd rate him ahead of McDaniel and Barger right now, but he's very good.

I can agree with Justice but Hall and Christian are not top 15 players in their class.
#14
I keep telling people they are sleeping on Dwayne "Waynie" Sutton at duPont Manual. He is 6'4 averaged 11.5 ppg and 8.5 rebounds last season as a sophomore.

Knott County well represented.
#16
So, what part of knott county are you from blue1424. Justice can definitively play and Evan hall is a good player but he shouldn't be close to this list. And as for simon christon and chance Cornett, I could pick 20 players in their own region that are head and shoulders above them
#17
I'm not absolutely sure but didn't mcdaniels leave clay county to attend a golf school. So he might not be even playing this year

Yikes.Demling and BB must be hanging out alot together. They made this list with BB staying all night at his house for a sleep over in their pajamas.Agree on Justice being near the top and maybe Hall in the top 25 possibly for the 2015 class.Other than that Christon and Cornett are mediocre players/role players for the team.No way in the top 15 for the state.Multiple kids in the Lexington and Louisville would hand their lunch to them.[Image:
