Holmes 8, Newport 2: Jared Martin set a career-high with 15 strikeouts while allowing only three hits. Brad Gregory drove in the first run of the game with a second-inning single and Holmes added four runs in the fifth to put the game away. Martin pitched a complete-game and helped Holmes to its second win of the season.
