15th Region Coaches
#1
Just curious here, but I would be interested to know the background/experience of some of our coaches from the 15th. Please feel free to add or correct these if I am off in any way.

Examples:

Coach Miller - Lawrence Co: Signed with UK out of High School and played under Joe B. Hall before transferring to Marshall University and finishing up his career there. Been coaching basketball since 1977 continuously.

Coach Ratliff - Paintsville: Signed with Pikeville College out of High School then transferred to Morehead State and then back to Pikeville College to play golf. Was part of the 1996 Paintsville State Championship team. Assistant for 6 years at Paintsville under Bill Mike Runyon.

Coach McKenzie - Johnson Central: Signed with Alice Llyod College out of High School where he played 4 years. Assistant Coach under Mark Starns.

^Yep, pretty sure he's a first year coach as well, at least at the high school level. I think he's going to turn out to be a great career coach.

I'd like to know more about Pikeville's coach. Love that guy, great coach. Pikeville is one of our most hated rivals, but I definitely respect Coach Bart's style.

Bart played at Johnson Central in high school then 4 years at Pikeville College, where he left as either #1 or 2 on the career scoring list. Been at PHS now for 7 years, not sure if he was at JCHS before that as an assistant. His dad took JCHS to their first sweet 16 back in 72, I believe.

He is still the all-time leader scorer at Pikeville College.

He was an assistant at Pikeville High School as far back as 98-99. Maybe a few years earlier. He was on the staff the last time the Panthers won the 15th Region.
