EASTERN – A member of the 2011 15th Region champion has signed a scholarship agreement with the University of Pikeville.

Amanda Hodge of Allen Central High School has signed to continue her education and play volleyball at UPIKE beginning this fall.

Hodge helped the Lady Rebels to a 30-11 record en route to an Elite Eight berth in last year’s state tournament, which was the second tournament in her four-year career at Allen Central. In addition, Hodge helped her team to three 15th Region All “A” Classic championships where, in 2011, they reached the semifinals of the event with four wins in the state tournament.

A two-time all-conference and all-district selection, Hodge helped her team to four straight district titles. She was named blocker of the year in 2009 and blocker and hitter of the year in 2008.

She is a member of the Beta Club, History Club, STLP, RADD, Senior Leadership Program, Work Program and Unite at Allen Central.

When she enrolls at Pikeville, Hodge will join her sister Brittany, who will be a senior next season.
