North Laurel vs Clay Co. 3/5 (13th Region Championship)
#1
North Laurel defeated a team in Knox Central that many thought would make it to the Championship game by a score of 38-30. Clay Co plays a close game with Pineville and comes away with the win 58-52.

Thoughts and predictions on this one?

Clay gets back to Rupp.
I know i took heat for saying Corbin and Clay have dominated the 13th region over the past 10 years back when this season started.
Well, Corbin had been to the past 5 region championships and this will make the 2nd or 3rd region championship game for Clay in the past 10.
Looks like i was right....

BTW, Clay will win the game.

^What year/years did Rock make it to State when they were in the 13th? They might have been one of the two times that Corbin or Clay did not make it that you were referring to. Was it 2001? 2002? 2003?

Rockcastle won the region in 2002 and 2004. I think Corbin and South Laurel have been the dominant teams in the region over the past 10 years. This may be Clay's first appearance in the finals since 2002. I expect Clay to win tonight.

Thats just it though during South's state championship and their really good teams, they were part of the 12th region.
They have been powerful since becoming part of the 13th region, but clay and corbin stand out more IMO.
Over the past 10 years id have to put rock at 3rd.

I think South won two 13th Region titles during that span and finished second at least once. Rockcastle wasn't a factor after Cash graduated in 2005. I'm guessing South has won more 13th Region tournament games since then than Clay and Rockcastle combined.
