Gov. Daniels: Obama administration 'wanted higher gas prices'
#1
It was good to see Gov. Mitch Daniels remind voters that the Obama administration has expressed its desire for higher gas prices. More Republicans need to be quoting Obama and his left wing cabinet members. Obama's advocacy of higher prices for fossil fuels as a tool to force people to switch to alternative fuels needs to become common knowledge among voters before the election.

Besides gasoline prices, utility rates have soared under Obama, just as he promised that they would.

This election should be a referendum on Obama's lack of a coherent energy policy, outrageous spending with no budget, and his mishandling of the economy. If Republicans do not force Obama to take ownership of this economic disaster, then they don't deserve to win in November.

Also, today Sen. Chuck Schumer advocated pressuring the Saudis to increase its production of crude oil. This is evidence that although Democrats say that high gasoline prices are not related to the available supply of oil, they know that if the Saudis put more oil into the global market, gasoline prices will drop.

Why is the media not demanding that Obama and Shumer explain why, if more Saudi oil will lower the price of crude oil, increasing domestic production would not do the same? The answer is obvious - the media fully supports Obama and does not want to embarrass him by having him fumble a simple question that has an obvious answer. Drill here, drill now is that answer.

Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels ® blamed President Obama for the spike in oil prices, saying the administration had pushed for consumers to pay higher prices at the pump.

"Let's give the president credit for one domestic policy that works. He wanted higher gas prices and he got them," said Daniels on Fox News Sunday.

"Secretary Chu said $8 are about what they pay in Europe. It would be great. Secretary Salazar said $10 and it still wouldn't be for drilling in the places where we know there's an awful lot of domestic production. And so, they have gotten the doubling of gas prices and perhaps worse, it's a conscious policy of this administration. Maybe the one thing they set out to do and actually accomplished." he said.

Quote:Exclusive: Saudi oil boost could calm markets: Senator Schumer

(Reuters) - The United States should do more to encourage Saudi Arabia to boost its oil production to make up for lost Iranian oil, Senator Charles Schumer said on Sunday, urging renewed diplomacy as a way to ease the run-up in oil prices.

Tensions surrounding Iran's nuclear program have pushed oil prices to nine-month highs, and U.S. gasoline prices have surged, becoming a top political issue in the run-up to the 2012 presidential elections.

A public promise from Saudi Arabia, the world's top oil exporter, to pump oil at its full capacity would calm oil markets as well as gasoline prices, Schumer, the third-ranking Democrat in the Senate, said in a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

^Here's the mind numbing thing about the Obama-driven economy and the energy crisis in general to me. Democratic supporters are so bias against the other side of the argument and Republicans in general, they will over look the fact that bankruptcy looms. Simply put, the vote buying schemes of the Democrats are working VERY well. Those who are being supported financially in return for their vote would see this nation laying in ruins before taking a chance on voting for anyone other than the Democratic candidate for any election. These kind of people have lived for 'today' their whole lives and there's no way to turn them now. On the other side of the coin, working folks that have achieved some measure of success are convinced by the argument given them by labor and the Dems, which teaches the doctrine of mutual success. Keep voting Democrat and Keep living the 'high life', and all Republicans want to do is take all your goodies away.

Obama has to go if we have any chance whatever of recovery.
