Mythical Kentucky State Football Tournament
#1
It is obvious from these threads that many of us regret that the high school football season is over. Withdrawal should last through the holidays and for some of us it will take until summer 2012 to recover. Six schools have been crowned champions and nothing can take that away from them. But...wouldn't it be great to have a "mythical" or "actual" Kentucky State Football Tournament of the six champions (if, or course, we could get the teams to agree and find neutral fields, referees, etc). I think it would be great fun! I have taken the liberty to get the process started. All games to be played in the beautiful, brand new, 30,000 seat Kentucky Bourbon Capitol Dome in downtown Frankfort, KY. Match-ups based on Maxpreps rankings.

Saturday, December 10

1. 1A Hazard (12-2) vs. 4A Highland (15-0), 3:30 p.m. ESPN
2. 2A Holy Cross (12-3) vs. 3A Central (12-3), 8:30 p.m. ESPN2

Saturday, December 17
3. Winner of game #1 vs. 5A Bowling Green (15-0), 3:30 p.m. CBS
4. Winner of game #2 vs. 6A Trinity (14-0), 8:30 p.m. FOX

Saturday, December 24
5. Winner of game #3 vs. Winner of game #4, 8:30 p.m. ABC

Take us through the entire tournament! Who wins each game and why?

Game 4: Trinity by 4-5 TD's

Game 5: Trinity by 3-4 TD's.

Yea this would be great. Then we could read another 6 threads on blowouts in the playoffs, how Kentucky doesn't know how to set football class systems, private schools and Highlands has an unfair advantage, ect, ect...............................Confusedinglepar

Take us through the entire tournament! Who wins each game and why?

1. Highlands 71 Hazard 0

Who is Hazard?

2. Central 35 Holy Cross 28 - 2 Overtimes

Matchup of the first round. Central wins a tight one that takes extra time to win.
3. Highlands 49 Bowling Green 24

I think we've heard enough about how we would kill BG...

4. Trinity 56 Central 14

Central too good but Trinity insane.

5. Highlands 56 Trinity 49

We can't stop Trinity's offense, but we have Dale Mueller and he puts together and awesome gameplan that gets us into the endzone enough times to upset them.

You forgot to mention another thread about how few fans Trinity would bring to these games against other lowly KY teams.

Additional idea - how about stretching the tournament another 6 weeks beyond that, involve all 50 states, and crown a true national champion? It would only be a 24 week season for the winning team!

That would be a great way to cure the fact that we have 9 months until season starts. Sad

Jesus Christ would have to put a high school team together to score 56 points on Trinity.

Maybe more like Trinity 49 Highlands 14?
