I really don't think that Morgan will win the region. I don't know who will its really up for grabs this year. It should be a great tournament this year in Morehead.

Good thing the championship isn't based on what you believe.

Your right, and its based on who can put together a three game stretch on a college floor and I don't really see Morgan being able to run that size court real well with McCowan and Haney. Rowan has the most experience coming back to Morehead and they have been playing real well as of late and could put together a run, those boys are real committed to going back to Rupp Arena.

You must be joking, right? Absolutely stupid comment to make. Morgan is a running team, probably the most 'uptempo' team in the 16th. Why on earth would you make such a dumb statement?? Sheesh.
BTW.......I take it you've never been to one of Perry's practices, right? Half the Rowan squad couldn't make it through one. Give me a break, 'lil Vikie.

I agree 100% Yelllow Snow!
What is this guy talking about?
That proves lil' vikie knows nothing about Morgan county basketball at all.
Rowan is the team that still believes in "Hoosier ball".
Morgan and Elliott are the two most up tempo teams in the 16th. That guy has to be D** D******. hahahahhahaha(lol) has to be!

Rowan doesn't play Hoosier Ball, you just say that because our coach is from Indiana. Rowan used a Princeton style offense last year and they have recently brought it back in after Coach Daniel's first offense didn't work this year.
As for Morgan's play, I know that McCowan and Haney can't run the floor at MSU. Haney really hasn't played a full game at MSU, and McCowan has never been effective at regional. Morgan will have to relie heavly on the guard play.

Graduating 6th grade after two attempts doesn't make you qualified to critique Morgan County basketall. What on earth are you talking about, boy? Morgan won the 16th Region on MSU's floor 2 years ago with McCowan 'effectively running the floor'. You are incredibly ignornat in your arguments. BTW, it's spelled 'rely', not relie. Sheesh. If you need pictures of him in action against Ashland in the championship game (being 'effective'), I can provide them for you bud. As for Haney, he's probably in better running shape than the guards (just ask Elliott Co.) Your posts are absolutely ridiculous. Here's a suggestion, son. If you're going to expect fans here to respect you as a poster, you'd better come with some better substance and a knowledge of what you're discussing. Don't continue to embarrass Rowan County. They don't need any more help than they already have.

Rowan kid.....Here's a pic that should educate you a bit on McCowan. Look closely and notice that Blake is leading the 'fast break' against Ashland in the championship game on MSU's floor. Also notice the Ashland guards trailing the play. So he can't run the college floor, huh? Yeah, right. Want any more pics to 'educate' you, son? I've got plenty more.

Lil Vikie, Know whereof you speak before you speak. You talk absolute nonsense in your comments about Morgan County basketball.

Lil' Vikie.....Here's another pic of McCowan being on the scoring end of a fast break against the Tomcats (on MSU's big floor). Just think what Blake could do if he could actually run the floor....:ChairHit:

Foolishness comes in all colors....in this case it's green and white.

Word from the recruiting trail says Centre College and Transy are both wanting McCowan.
02-26-2006, 11:55 PM
IMO Morgan county will run thru the region
02-27-2006, 01:01 PM
Nobody will run through the region. IF Morgan wins, I see every game in the tourney as a close one. Remember, Morgan had to hit a last second shot to beat West Carter in the opening round year befor last, mainly because the Cougars were looking ahead to a matchup with Ashland. This year any one of 5 teams can win it all. Just hope Morgan isn't looking ahead to anyone.
02-27-2006, 01:02 PM
Wonder where lil' Vikie is today with his McCowan can't run the floor crap?
02-27-2006, 10:46 PM
I'll be the first to eat crow.
I said Morgan by 14 and I overlooked a very, very determined West Carter team.
Morgan finishes with a fine season but the heart and determination of West Carter tonite was impressive. Congrats to West Carter, Congrats to Morgan on a great season. Watching Jones for West and the hustle of the comets was worth the price of admission. NOT THE SIZE OF DOG IN THE FIGHT BUT THE SIZE OF FIGHT IN THE DOG.
WOW! Man, I can't believe this one.

Save a little of that Crow for me also. I, along with just about everyone else thought Morgan would walk through the district, but with some great West Carter play and some absolutely STUPID Morgan County clock management in the final 2 1/2 minutes, the Cougars bit the dust. As Morgan was warming up before the game, I pointed out to a guy standing beside me to watch Morgan, they haven't hit 4 shots in the entire warmup session. No doubt the Cougars thought all they had to do to win was to show up on the floor, but West proved otherwise. To put it plain and simple, Morgan was just plain outplayed and possibly outcoached, but I'll not go there. They were not ready for what West Carter was throwing at them. Season's over. Congrats Cougars and a bigger congrats to West Carter for coming up with a gameplan to beat the #1 team in the 16th region.

I'm afraid so, Nike Man. Perry should have had an answer for Jones, at least double team him if nothing else. West wore us out when we played man with a discipline passing game which resulted in many easy layups and 8 foot jumpers for Jones and in preparation for the district, Perry should have drilled in the Cougar's heads to protect the basketball when you've got the lead late in the game. Morgan almost lost the Boyd game by forcing wild shots in the closing minutes only to pull it out, and I'll be dadgummed if they didn't (and the same kid too) do it again tonight. All they had to do to win the game was force West to foul and they'd be on their way to the championship game. I thought Perry was lax in his decision making during the game and it cost them. Hope this teaches me not to arugue with you about the brilliance of Perry in the future. Figured it would bite me in the butt and it did. Maybe the 'Nike Man' knows more about Perry than most of us give credit, huh?

Suprising to say the least. Coaches are second guessed constantly. Hopefully Perry will handle the negative as well as the positive. That's part of Coaching!!!
This just in, Matt Perry will star in a new movie titled "Sleepless in West Liberty"
I had to do it, I just had to do it!! Nothing wrong with some humor to stop the bleeding.

I've been saying ever since I saw Owens and Boyd play Morgan that I sure don't want to meet up with them again on a college floor in the regional. Guess I got my wish on that one, huh? IMO, Boyd is the favorite to cut down the nets in Morehead, providing they beat Fairview first. Owens is unstoppable when he decides to put this team on his shoulders but he's not the only weapon they have. Very agressive team when they get it together. It's Boyd's tournament to lose, IMO.

Not much humor floating around Sorghum City this morning, Nike Man. Cougar fans in gereral are a bit testy over last night's outcome. Most had their reservations in LexVegas ready to watch the Cougars, but West spoiled that. You're correct in saying coaches are second guessed constantly. That's why Perry and his staff are paid the 'big bucks' to coach the Cougars. I'm sure that along with many other topics are being discussed by the Monday morning (in this case Tuesday morning) coaches in all the breakfast outlets in the city (we only have 3 BTW)... Doubt if Perry will be featured in a movie anytime soon, unless they remake a Godzilla movie or something.. Knowing the boy, he'll be busy drawing up plays and scratching his butt trying to figure out how to get next season's squad ready to compete in the tough 62nd district. This loss last night ain't gonna sit well with Perry or anyone else for that matter in Sorghum City.....

Nonone is Mentioning The Tomcats Who are the Hottest Team in The Region and Are Very Athletic And Have a Huge Victory Over Boyd And Beat Russell In a Hostile Environment On Senior Night when Vanhooose Couldn't Miss IM Riding The Tomcats To RUPP
02-28-2006, 03:24 PM
Right you are, tomcatfan......Ashland is just one of 4 or 5 teams that can get hot and cut down the nets in Morehead. Nobody better count them out or they'll be like Morgan watching from the stands. I still say Boyd is the team to beat, but would have to put Ashland, Fairview and Russell a close second.

What about Rowan County they got the best young player in the 16th region in Matthew Daniel. They might be a threat goin in to the region.

Im stickin with Ashland baby.
