Player to watch: G Brandon Brooks (15 ppg., 3 rpg., 2 steals. Brooks, an All-Region pick as a junior, has started past two seasons on Colt teams that reached the All âAââ tournament final in Richmond. âHe has a mind-set that he doesnât like to lose, a demeanor about win-win,ââ Mingus said.
Other top players: F Evan Bingham (6-4, Sr., 9 ppg., 5 rpg.); G Cam Duncan (5-10, Sr.); F Derek Fisher (6-2, Jr.); F Will Reddington (6-0, Sr.); G Chase Montgomery (6-1, Sr.); F James Davenport (6-3, Jr.).
Outlook: After losing seven seniors off last seasonâs team, DeSales only returns two players with varsity experience. Bingham is our most improved player and Fisher had a good summer,ââ Mingus said. âWeâre expecting Duncan and the sophomores to step up. Brooks needs to develop into a team leader, not just in scoring but overall.â
