I don't think it was as close as the score. Lots of late Holmes pts. NCC subs seem to be a big dropoff. NCC isn't too many years away from being an also ran.

It was 35-0 then in the 4Q 35-8 with 1:30 left Holmes scored 2 late TDS to make it look closer. Holmes was playing very dirty late alot of trash talking even holmes parents yelling take out another one after 1 NCC kid gets put on a stretcher with a neck injury. Holmes players talking a laughing that a player is hurt. At the end on the game Peterson acts like they won giving a hussein Bolt jester. The sad thing is I think Holmes has the athletes they are very fast, hits hard, and alot of players with good size. The only issue I see is very little discipline from the whole organization parents also.

So what Lickert instilled in two years is gone in less than one? From only watching one game I'd say YES!!!
I'd also say if your Highlands or Covcath make sure you take out your 1st teamers earliest as possible they will play dirty if they get a chance and its not worth it. If your Holy Cross I don't kow how you play this game you might need your first team in the whole game and its the last game of the season when you don't need to get anyone hurt, I think that HC can make a run at NCC if they stay healthy. I know their is always two sides to a story, but the NCC kids said they were talking trash all night even stepping on hands sometimes. I can also say the NCC kids started to get caught up in it with them the NCC coach call a time out and that was the end of that from their side.

As a parent for one of the Holmes player I just had to response to the post about how the Holmes parents were reacting when the NCC player got hurt I was praying for him so its unfair to place other parents in the same category. Also some of the NCC fans or parents were yelling things too even before that incident. My son told me there was a lot of crap talking to him out on the field also. I know this happens in football but somehow it always comes back on Holmes because we are already looked at in a negative way anyhow. We have some good kids on are team and i talk with all of them its so much yall don't know about these kids and what goes on in their everyday life some simple things some much more serious, things you could probably care less about are even take for granted in your on life. Teams like NCC, Cov Cath. and Highlands that live and died for football and other sports are kids just try to live and survive with the circumstances they been given and use sports and other activities just to get them through.

Sorry if you felt this was directed towards you it wasn't meant that way, but as a whole Holmes was playing very dirty and some not all parents said things that shouldn't have been said. As for the kids im not going into my situation or the people I grew up with, but I can tell you one thing those situations are sad and the only thing you can do about it is change it or it will continue to happen. Life is very difficult sometimes, but that is why a coach at holmes needs to build young men first by showing them the correct way to do things. If you think that NCC players won't be talking trash back after Holmes started talking trash you are wrong. Thats not right either, but i did see NCC coaches call a time out take a kid out of the game and I can't say one situation where that happen from the Holmes sideline. The last thing I will say is this it starts at home, but everyone close to the oganization has to do their part to change the way these kids look and act at situations or the cycle MAY continue.

It was a pathetic display of sportmanship!!!

From only watching one game I'd say YES!!!I can totally see the difference between the Holmes team this year and the Holmes team while Lickert was there. He coached at Dayton for 2 years and started to turn that program around. The players/parents/community were behind him and they thought the world of him, until he left. I totally agree with following your dreams, and his dream was to coach at a 5A school, someday maybe even his high school, Highlands. But the kids and everyone down in Dayton felt that they were just left and forgotten, which I assume, is how Holmes people felt when he left. However that shouldn't be an excuse to undo what Lickert did with that program. I know people have difficulties in their life, even those as Highlands, NCC, and CovCath, but that shouldn't be used as an excuse for bad behavior.

I hope both teams can learn from this game
I had to leave the game early to go to work so I missed the ugly end.
It only takes a few bad fans to make the program look bad.
I think some of the Holmes players were getting frustrated and the Coach had to settle them down and keep them focused. There is a fine line between playing aggressive football and playing dirty football. If they tried to injure other players then that would not be acceptable. I hope they take away from the football experience a strong sense of competion and not lesson that assault is OK.
Thats is big part of why I follow HS FB and am turned off with the Pros.
Also I heard that the above injured player was not seriously hurt and returned to practice this week.
