Sheldon Clark @ Frankfort 9/2
#1
The Cards make the trip to Frankfort at 0-2 and Frankfort comes in at 1-1.

This will be a game I will try to at least watch some updates for. Two teams have one common opponent: Rockcastle County.

Logic says 8-0 Frankfort...I'd say SC by 3+ td's.

After the drubbing last Friday night, logic would definitely favor Frankfort; however, Sheldon Clark is not as bad, I don't think, as they have looked.

If the coaches, team, and everyone involved, gets on the same page, I think SC can be respectable as the season progresses. Really, there were a "few" bright spots in the loss to Prestonsburg. As far as the loss to Rockcastle, I didn't see any any bright spots, save Taylor Chapman's extraordinary effort, but Rockcastle is a tremendous team and simply overpowered SC..

The following is just MO: Stick to what you do best, and that is not throwing the bomb. I sensed panic there! In the Prestonsburg game, when SC was behind 15 at the beginning of the 4th. quarter, they had possession and were making good yardage (two quick first downs), and gaining momentum, but what happens, a long bomb is thrown and intercepted. Correct me if I'm wrong but the exact thing happened earlier in the game.

Now, obviously, I don't know what would have happened if SC had not chosen to throw the bomb at that point, but I do believe that the game would have been much closer. We all know, I think, that when you get that momentum going, good things can happen. When one has almost 12 minutes left, a lot can happen.

Oh, another question I have to ask is, why KP was not used more? In the second half, he couldn't have carried the ball more than two or three times.
(I read on this thread where another poster wrote that he carried twice). That is hard to comprehend! This young man gives it his all, he is definitely the hardest runner on the team, the strongest, and most likely the fastest. If anyone has an answer, please post.

Let's hope that SC can work out the clinks in their armor and play some football in the coming weeks.

Frankfort 22-10

It depends on the conditioning of the SC line IMO. If they have worked hard on conditioning since they played Rockcastle, SC will have a chance if they score early and often. If Frankfort keeps it close going into the second half, I would give the edge to Frankfort.
#13
Frankfort is better then what they were last year and SC is worst.. Edge goes to Frankfort.. hopefully sc can keep this one close..

As far as the play calling ; that's typical "HAGER PANIC" The KP ordeal has me confused also, maybe Hager needs to look back to the 2009 season when SC played in the regional championship game and KP took over in the 4th quarter and scored 2 tds and Pike Central couldn't stop him, then set him out in the semi-final game at Somerset and finally put him in and a 60 yard td, and then gave him the ball only 2 times in the 4th. I can't understand Hagers coaching , it's like he doesn't want the mommentum. Just like friday night SC had 4th and 2and Hager calls a play outside to Smith from the shotgun and Smith lost a yard, I don't understand why SC didn't line up in the bone and run a power play to KP, or T.O. the two bigger backs, for 2 yards. You mentioned the play calling in the early 4th quarter was terrible! Another example of not wanting the MO! I talked to KPs dad yesterday and he said he just wanted everybody to let it go, that things will get better, I'm sorry, I don't see Hager changing or wanting too!

I watched Frankfort play against Newport in a very ugly game, which they won. Then Frankfort gets hit in the mouth last week against Rockcastle County. They'll get a good test against SC. Im saying Sheldon Clark wins by a TD
#16
Frankfort has a very explosive offense and ROCK was battling with there backs until #4 (Kaleb Leach) was removed from the game with what i believe was a dislocated shoulder, for Sheldon Clark to win they must 1. be in great shape to run the field with Franforts backs, and 2. either stop them behind the line of scrimmage for a loss every play or cause Kaleb Leach to exit the game before halftime.

This could be a dangerous game for this young Cardinal team, After the first two weeks the Cards took some beatings. IMO the right the ship this week and get the win, But I'm hearing Frankfort is a very speedy team. This game will once again come down to if the line can open up the holes for the backs at SC.

rumors swirling around that kp skyles has left the team.. if true this is a bad loss for the cards

I am pretty sure this is true. However, I also am pretty sure he is having second thoughts.

KP is NOT leaving and more committed than ever to get the CARDS back on track!

Frankfort 27-21.

Sheldon Clark 27 - 24

Should be a good contest. Seems like both teams are trying to work out all the kinks in the early season.

Sheldon Clark is by far better than what they showed against Rock. Frankfort on the other may not be as good. Youth and inexperience will be this teams theme song this season. Very talented group just lack knowledge and strength.
#25
Will this game be broadcast, and if so, which station?
#26
I think that the Sheldon Clark coaching staff should pay more attention to their own backyard and preparing their team instead of spending all their time and concern trying to make up stories/excuses for why they are losing to teams that have in the past been easy wins. The times they are a changing! So get over it.

What time is the game?
