Morgan coming off a 5-5 season returns their entire team, graduated 2 seniors. Boyd coming off a 1-9 season last year returns a very good qb. Common opponent last year was East Carter. Boyd defeated East Carter 3-0, Morgan defeated East Carter 48-20.

This will be a good game. Boyd being a bigger school will have more numbers but this Morgan team has played the past 2 years with all fresh and soph's while the new staff has been rebulding the program. Morgan's entire staff all played on successful Breathitt county teams. The cougars went 5-6 with all soph's last season. Morgan only has 3 seniors, Jr. dominated team. This same group of Jr's played at Lexington Catholic as 8th graders in the middle school state final 4 losing to Bluegrass( John Hardin) 22-14.
Boyd will be much improved and I'm sure they're looking at Morgan as a possible win.
I think the rebuilding process is over, Morgan no longer has to play all underclassmen as they have for the past 2 years. Morgan county 28 Boyd county 20

I hate to say it,but the Cougars should get this one.My Lions aren't going to make any big noise this year I'm afraid,but they'll try anyway.

Khsaa web site shows Morgan Co having 8 seniors on last years team did 6 of them quit. Boyd has a great junior group that played alot last season . I would not under estimate these young men.

Curd and Flannery were the only 2 that started. Curd only got to play half the season due to an acl injury. A couple quit along the way and Cirroci and Waymans played sparringly as role players.

RB-Thornsberry fresh.

This was the starting line up last season. You can go check the KHSAA if you like and you will see this matches up. 2 seniors started, a couple played sparingly. Morgan returns nearly their entire team.

I really wouldnt be surprised if MC beats Boyd.

Morgan County had some serious talent last season in their underclassman.
