Allen Boys Job Open
#1
Coach Wright step down as boys coach!!! My understanding all the boys was leaving and going to other school so he step down and took his kids out of Allen I know for sure they lost Nate and JT to Betsy Layne.

What does everyone think about our ATHLETICS COMMITTEE trying to get rid of our C-Teams next year our six graders will just lose out... I heard this is another P-burg and May Valley rule because they did not winner the K-5 county last year.. Just because a kids go to K-8 school they can't play up well P-bug you have Adams and May Valley you have ACMS. Call your board members before this get vote in they are trying to do this through the summer so no one knows about it. They are no parents or coaches on this great committee that Keith Henry has come up with.. If a kids is good enough to play up they should get to just like they do in the high school, law suit waiting to happen. STAND UP FOR YOUR KIDS PARENTS CALL TODAY BEFORE IT TO LATE

I think the provision is still in place where the waiver can be signed by parent coach and principal to allow a child to move up if they feel inclined. Dont hold me to that because I was not in the meeting

There is a provision in place to let the students play up one level. It is my understanding a K5 student can play up to C Team (if they keep this level) or B Team (if they don't). This was the interpretation I received from a member of the athletic committee.

Let me ask a question. How is it fair for girls that are in 5th grade or below to begin play in August on a C or B team, play in a tournament in October, then play on the elementary team and in their tournament in December? I believe that the elementary programs were developed to keep middle schools from brinning up elementary students and they were not participating in practice or games.........except on rare occasions. The C team was brought about because of the elementary students, then it turned into players in the sixth grade starting on both the C and B teams. We see this every time our schools play. It has turned into winning games instead of a developmental program.

There is two major reasons you see so many younger kids playing up. The first reason is because they're hard work deserves to be paid off. If a kid works his butt off and has the talent to play up, why shouldn't he? Secondly, you do not have enough kids in each grade coming out to play. You have to have younger kids play up in order to fill a team in this area, schools don't have the numbers not to have kids play up. Also, if you develop a program that builds talent, winning games is the reward that comes from that hard work! You cannot develop a program and not win games, thats how your program is measured on the court. How its measured off the court is grades, and our schools do a great job making sure sports are a reward for hard work in the class room this day and age.
