First ever female from from Kentucky to be selected to this game

Congrats to Sara. And UK did miss out.
#4
Very deserving for this VERY versatile player. Talented family as well. I believe her sister broke Track records in high school and in college. Correct me if I am wrong.

True, she was a multi-state champ in high school in track.
Her older brother was also a collegiate swimmer at WKU, very good blood lines.

Thanks 3Wishes, I forgot the brother.

Congrats to a super young lady with a ton of talent-sure to see you on ESPN soon.
#11
Had an offer from UCONN and turned it down to stay in-state and play at Louisville. Congratulations to a very deserving young lady.

congra for a super player and from what I hear a great person too, great accomplishment
#15
Why did UK not offer her a scholarship? Doesn't make sense to pass on such a great player.
#16
Congrats Sara we sure are proud of you.
#17
Very deserving but she should not have been the first.
#18
Heard about this about 2 weeks ago, very awesome! Congrats Sara.
#19
UK did offer , she turned them down because it was between UofL and U-Con.
#20
The last time I checked the ESPN rankings, Sara was rated the 12th best player in the nation.

Congrats to her on making the McDonald's All-American team.
#21
Wrong info ballcrazy, her father confirmed UK did not make an offer only talked to Sara. Their loss is Louisville's gain.

I still can't believe she didn't go to UConn

I would have hated to win 3 or 4 National Championships up there. :eyeroll:

On a serious note, congratulations for being named a McDonald's All-American.

A truely rare honor

Angela McCoughtry turned out okay going to UL, A Final 4 and a great WNBA player. It is about what is best for the individual. UL wanted her REALLY badly and were there from the beginning. She will also be close to home and play for a good coach. UL is a major program, it is probably a Tier 2 as opposed to the best in UCONN but you know for a fact she will play at UL and play often. She may have had to sit or not get the ball much at UCONN.

I totally respect her decision to go to UofL and to stay close to home.

But going to UConn is like being named to the McDonalds All-American team.

it is a once in 10,000 lifetimes chance for an athlete. I just think it is like turning Wooden down when UCLA was winning championships year after year. You just can't say no the the Wizard of Westwood. Or at least I would like to think I couldn't have.
