What is everyone's opinion on this game? It will be played this Thursday in Putnam Stadium. Should be a great warmup for the headliner on Friday when Johnson Central comes to town.

I don't know much about Russell's freshmen team, but I know Ashland has a very good freshmen class although they seem to be hampered with injuries.

My prediction:
Ashland - 28
Russell - 14

I dont know who they will play in Irontons place, but I hope it is a team on the same level. This game has been a great test for the Pirates over the last 11 years serving as not only a measuring stick but also helping the team regain focus. The timing of this years final contest is perfect as this young team prepares for thier playoff run. I sure do wish we could have been more competitive than 1-11 but hopefully we end the series with a win. Who would you all like to see on the Belfry schedule next year?

I'll get to Putnam Stadium around my normal 5:30 - 6:00 time slot. If anyone else attending the game wants to find me, I'll be the short guy wearing a gray sweatshirt and an Ashland hat or toboggan standing the entire game just to the right of the press box with many of the other most faithful Tomcat fans.

who are some of the teams that not necessarily made a deep run in the playoffs but which teams shook up the district and the seeding for the playoffs with an upset???

what players at your school in the past 5 seasons were very talented in middle school or that were highly praised that were stricken by injury....never amounted to anything or just gave up the game tooo early????
