Who do you think will play for the championship game and come away with the title?

Predictions?

Fleming co. will be way too much for an injured, young Powell co. team. Powell has some good young talent but is a year and a district realignment away from being competitive. I look for a better showing from Powell this week but Fleming will be the second spot behind Russell. Fleming 47 Powell 16
Powell plays 6 freshman on both sides, pays off next season.

Rowan had some what of a promising start with a win over an injury depleted Morgan team. Rowan lost Friday to Gallatin co., Who is in their first year of football. Rowan led and had the lead in the 4th by 14 points and came out throwing the ball. Why?? Why do you throw the ball with a 2 touchdown 4th quarter lead and give the game away? Terrible coaching, Terrible. You beat Morgan running the bone coach Preston ran. Now all this pass happy stuff that will make you a 2_8 football team.Rowan will realize just how much they miss Preston when it's over. Rowan went from being the leading rushing team in the state under Preston last year to losing to a first year Gallatin co. football program this year. That's a big step backwards IMO.

Western defeated Lou. Desales 42-20 Friday night. They are the leading ground getters in the state with nearly 500 yards rushing a game. That is unheard of !
Both backs have exploded for nearly 1000 yards a piece. Their QB has rushed for almost 500 yards in their potent wishbone attack. The 2nd year in a row coach Preston has had the leading rushing team in the state. Congrats to coach Preston. A Western-Mercer showdown is coming for the region.

Do you think a good announcer helps fires teams up? I think if the announcer gets into the game it helps. And also a player hearing his name pumps him up.

Few big plays given up by CovCath, and a few mistakes cost them. Really was a lot closer than the score says.
Shane Popham's 57 yard FG ties him for 2nd in state history. Pettrey of Raceland kicked a 58 yarder. It was probly good from 65 easy.

10/6 - Thursday @ 6pm there will be a town-wide Pep Rally for the Upcoming game against Belfry ! Hope to see some of ya there !

I'm really impressed with them so far this season. Bell beat Corbin 17-14 at Log mountain. Corbin lost to 'Rock 2-0. Middlesboro hung 62 points on them. I think Middlesboro could play right with Belfry or Russell.
