They have to give up too much to make it work financially...
and I don't see the Magic caving in to his "demands".

They will either keep him or trade him to the West for whatever they can get.

Well they have till July 2013 to do it or else he"ll do whatever he wants.
Besides, I do think they will send him to where he wants to go.
I'm a big fan of his, but honestly Howard is doing more harm than good in the locker rooms in Orlando. He wants out - and the drama he is putting there is proof of that.
^Howard has been doing the worst thing possible for Orlando: stating publicly that he will only play for one team.

The Magic are trying to play it off that they can trade him elsewhere, but ONLY Houston (that I have seen) has stated that they will trade for him without a guaranteed extension.

The Nets, knowing this, hold ALL the cards. Why rush? Get him now and give up stuff, OR wait until he is a free agent, and sign him. Either way, they win. The only question the Nets have to ask themselves is, "what are we willing to give up for one extra season of Dwight Howard?"

I think the Houston idea is more intriguing than people think

People hate Lebron because of the "Decision", yet Carmello did his complaining and setting demands during the season, basically quitting on his fans mid-season. D-Howard is making what Lebron's decision, and Mello's selfishness look like nothing! D-Howard will be the new face of hate in 2013!

The Houston Rockets plan to offer a contract to New York Knicks guard Jeremy Lin on Wednesday, according to a report by The New York Post.

The Post, citing a league source, reports the Rockets will offer Lin a backloaded deal worth roughly $30 million. According to the same source, the deal would pay Lin $5 million in the first season, $5.2 million in the second, and then would increase to as much as $10 million per year in the third and fourth seasons.
is this true? steve nash will play at LA Lakers??
^Yes. It is true.
Please Sacramento, MAKE A MOVE! I know the Maloof family is broke but please go after an SF. PLEASE!
^ I'd like to see the Kings trade Demarcus Cousins to the Milwaukee Bucks for Kwame Brown....
Stardust Wrote:^ I'd like to see the Kings trade Demarcus Cousins to the Milwaukee Bucks for Kwame Brown....

Dusty, I hate to say it BUT it would not surprise me.

The Maloof family is holding on for dear life. They are broke, by NBA owners standards. When they had the money, there were some of the best owners in the NBA. They handsomely paid one of the best coaches in the NBA, they made agressive moves, they paid players to keep them in Sacramento, Arco arena was considered the most rockin' arena in the NBA (affectionately called the cowbell kingdom then) and they pulled no punches and held back no expense in making the Kings a title contender, year in and year out.

However, they invested in casinos and real estate right before the market collapsed and lost a back-breaking amount of money. Now they want to hold on, but everyone, including them, knows that the dream is over. They have tied Geoff Petrie's hands for years. They will not allow him to sign any player to a deal worth more than $9 million per season, they will not amnesty any players to make salary cap room, and they will not take on any expiring contracts to get good veterans to come in. They have consistently had the lowest paid coaches in the NBA because there is not minimum NBA coach salary, and if there was, they would rake the bottom. For YEARS they have been SIGNIFICANTLY below the cap. They were the ONLY NBA team, with cap room, not to make an offer for Lebron or any major free agent. The most notable free agent signing the Kings have had since Ron Artest is Chuck Hayes Sad And that has worked out TERRIBLY!

So, even though your post was an obvious joke, sadly, it isn't. Sad

Thank for being a good sport with my "Sacramento" joking over the past few months, but has been a pleasant change for me to finally see another team take over the "worst ownership" role from my beloved Bengals. Trust me, your frustration is a frustration that I have felt for 20 years, just interchange the name Brown and Maloof, and you have the same signature for idiocy. Fortunately, old man Brown has stepped away and let others take more control. Hopefully you get the same satisfaction of seeing the ownership "get with the times".

Long term, this is not a fix, but it might be better than dropping $30-40M on the still unproven Lin.
Lin agrees to Houston Rockets offer sheet. Knicks expected to match. "Source with knowledge of Knicks thinking say they will match any offer sheet for Lin up to $1 Billion dollars"

Brandon Roy to Minnesota. 2 Years, $10.4 Mil

Source: After speaking w/ Kobe & Nash and liking what he heard, DwightHoward has told the Lakers he'll sign contract extension with them.
