Not a unanimous number one, but ill take it.
Yay! Just seen this on ESPN...

Apparently, there's quite a few people that still aren't convinced of our awesomeness.
^I like that it is not unanimous. Cal can use it as motivation. Hard to get motivated to play a team when you are unanimously considered the best team by everyone in the country. Players tend to think they can "just show up and win" when that happens.

This is the first week all season the AP voters have given UK any #1 votes. Haters gotta hate.

I agree 100%. Kind of relates to me wanting us to lose at least once this season...just so we get the nasty taste of it and work hard to never taste it again.

I really don't think UNC should be ranked 5th though...

I'd probably still vote them #2 if I was being honest. If I had an
actual vote I'd probably vote them 3 cause I could get away with
it. And I'm suprised given the love affair that they dropped that
far.
I just hope UK don't let it get to their head and think they are world beaters and then end up getting knocked off.
#1 baby!

looks pretty solid to me! I would rearrange some but all in all looks about right. UK is worthy of the #1 right now
This will last maybe until the UNC game. I wish we could stay #1 after the 3rd but our level of physicality is at about a 0.7 and we're not going to beat UNC like that.
We will keep this #1 ranking the rest of the year.
Top 5 is pretty accurate. I really believe OSU is the second best team to us. Duke is not the 3rd best team, but they've beat good teams, and are undefeated. So you have to give that to them. Louisville is too high at 6. They're struggling against bad teams and will lose when they play any kind of competition.
Boy, does that #1 look good! But it scares the crap out of me too! Young team, #1? Could be potentially dangerous! I pray not though.. I believe this team is the team to keep the #1 and not let it get to their heads.
I would have posted the complete rankings off of ESPN or wherever like you did Dusty, but i cant get that to work when i try it.
Ifya do, keep the link with it. I like going to the site. I end up reading about college basketball for an hour. hahaha
When is the OSU / dUKe game?
I will say this..
I think UK deserves to be #1 right now..
I do think Duke has a good team and is being over-looked by a lot of people on here..
Not a Duke fan at all, but look at their schedule and look at the teams they have played so far and who they play during the rest of the year.. They have a pretty legit schedule IMO..

UK has played some good teams and some sad teams.. This Saturday will prove nothing to me win or lose.. So what is UNC beats us? They beat us last year and we returned the favor in the tourney..

OSU was ranked #1 overall a good part of last year and we sent them home as well..
With all of that said, UK does have a real chance of going undefeated on the season after this game, but you gotta be careful about those baby teams in the SEC.. They always seem to get us unexpectedly.

Overlooked? A team with no front court, that has struggled against
weak teams, couldn't win 2 out of 3 against anyone else in the top 10,
yet is ranked 3rd and getting #1 votes is overlooked? Gimme a break.
K could go out and take the girls JV from some Lexington middle school,
and ESPN would still be fawning all over him, and some idiots would still
be voting him top 10. It's nauseating.

they will beat unc's ass all over rupp!
Great!!! Now maybe they can keep it for over a week this time.
#1 is nice now, I would rather see UK ranked #1 in April.
Jarons Wrote:#1 is nice now, I would rather see UK ranked #1 in April.

While I agree, the #1 spot doesn't mean anything to me with this team going into the tourney..
Yeah you get the best seed and so on but when you are the #1 team you are at risk every night.. Those teams have it out for you and you have a target on your back.. The nation wanting to see you fall.. Teams that just barely make it in, hungry to go one step further or just to upset a team like UK would be a milestone for them.. A scary thought when you think about it like that..
#1 ranking will probably change 8 times this year......doesn't really mean a whole lot to me as long as we are a number 1 seed come March...
