Dude, it was a few posts, and they included F**k and GD which have no place in the Sports forums. Every post related and in response to the guy were deleted.

I had a post deleted that didnt use the F word.

There is a need for a thread on it when we were told it wouldnt happen again. I didnt know this was bluegrassrivals the G rated version. I understand people wanting to keep the profanity to a minimum, but people act like this site is mostly viewed by kids. I assume this site is visited by 18+ for the most part. Although a lot of posters make me think otherwise.

Not for sure why you would think the site is viewed by only 18+ since most of the views come during high school football season. But anyhow they was deleted by a Admin. A very respected one, SO maybe try contacting him Via PM or Facebook.

Cussing like that in the Sports forums isn't needed, and it takes away from the our professionalism image and credibility as a good place to talk about sports. It's fine for the most part in this forum and Politics, but it doesn't have a place in Sports. That crap gets people heated, and when that happens, reasonable debate and discussion goes out the window and it becomes a troll fest and people cussing each other.Your post was deleted because it was related to that guy's post, just like I said. Actually, it's the other way around. We have quite a few mods that like to pick and choose when they want to enforce any rules, and just straight up sucking at what they're supposed to be doing...taking care of the site, closing double threads and old threads, squaring away people who break the few rules we do have over and over..that kind of stuff.

Honestly guys, I do not delete anything anymore. I 100% do not know what I am supposed to do, unless it is SO obvious that anyone would know it (threatening, revealing identity, etc...)

Someone could post 1000-straight F-words and I would leave it. The way I understood what was explained, you can talk like a sailor in any forum at any time, as long as you do not reveal identity, threaten someone, post kiddie-porn or something like that, etc... The boss let it be known that this would be the place to be free of "over-policing"

A post could be nothing more than f-word, f-word, f-word and be allowed to stand, as long as it was not f-word you, directed at someone. Even then, I am not sure. It seems as if there is a bigger problem for slapping someone's internet-hand for the language, than the language itself. So, from the way I understand it, we can potty-mouth away, lol.

Any mods or admins that understand it better, feel free to prove me wrong. However, do not just guess.

It is easy to see that I do not agree, however, as a mod I will enforce what I understand to be enforced, and I will allow whatever it is to happen, if that is what is asked of me. If the boss wants us to stand back, so be it. If I need to re-tighten the leash a little, I have no problem with that either.

I didn't say it wasn't allowed, I'm just saying it doesn't belong there and it's just stupid. Common courtesy and respect...usually pretty simple things.

I dont know who deleted my post. How am I supposed to PM them? I agree most post come from high school football, but do you really think its a bunch of kids making those discussions?
My post in no way threatened, showed someones identity or anything else. I agree with LWC, people were told to leave threads alone. Someone is needing to feel some power or something.

^ If it was deleted, rgw deleted post should still show up in the thread and at the bottom will ID who deleted it.

Id be willing to bet if it keeps happening QQ will take away all moderator duties again. Which is a bad thing bc of the duplicate threads and stuff. I agree they are needed, but not for deciding what threads are ok to stay on the site or not. The big boss man himself said to let it go.

^ I just went through your posts lists (in the Veiw All Posts) for your username and do not see any that were deleted. Even if they were deleted, they will still appear for Mods to see. Are you positive posts were deleted? What thread?

Man, what do you not understand about what Dusty said? FBALL deleted you post, it says it where it used to be.

Mods aren't coming even close to over-policing, they're letting to much go. Like I mentioned, cussing matches for threads instead of debates, threads that used to always be closed when that game was over are being left open and usually end up as a trolling thread until it's finally closed...

We don't need a million rules, but we do need Mods to do what they're supposed to do. Square people away who break the FEW rules we do have and clean up dead threads, stuff like that.

We were basically told to stop being "Mall Cops" and "over-policing" essentially everything is supposed to be fair game. The only power we are supposed to use is to prevent legal troubles for the site and to fix thread titles, double-posts, etc...

A modern-government example would be the Queen of England, only with no influence.

Confirming vundy's point, in the UK/UT thread, the word F&^% was used multiple times. Sorry, but no matter how lenient you want this thread, that word will NOT be used on the site! The Mod who deleted those posts did what was 100% correct for that word!

But like I said, I see none of yours that were deleted.

Because they were told not to. Im not bitching over one post being deleted or the 30 or so that were deleted in the Ky Tenn thread. What im saying is, if certain mods start picking and choosing which post to delete its going to eventually go back to the way it was and the site owner has publicly stated he does not want that.

all im saying is leave the post alone, no matter how bad the language.

Well, there are even rules that are posted that are blatantly broken and nothing is done. Like I said, rules such as reveling our personal identities are broken and that is supposed to be a permanent banishment. Those must not be rules either, so as LWC stated, just about anything goes except the F-word and GD!

C'mon, do you really mean that? Do you want to see this site go the way of TOPIX??? You really don't see the difference in dropping F-Bombs and saying GD? You honestly have ZERO issues with that? Serious????

It doesnt have to be mine. Im talking about any deleted post. I dont want it to go back to how it was. I once got a 2 day suspension or some crap for posting a you tube video from the movie major league. It was where Harris said "are you trying to say Jesus Christ cant hit a curve ball?"
All I want is to stay away from this happening again. If certain post are being deleted its step one. Theres a post in that same thread that uses the F word, but because it has so many likes I guess it wasnt deleted. So how can one post using the F word be deleted and another not?

Who knows? I sure don't. But if people want it to go that way, then we are letting it run down a trash hole. Cursing has obviously been approved, but to use F & GD sure seem to fit the term "graphic" language, and that's stupid to allow that kind of garbage. How can you compare this site to topix? Even if the F word was used more frequently? Topix is gossip and rumors, this is a site discussing sports.
Im not saying I want every thread to be full of bad language, but how often did that happen when there was ZERO mods? This site is full of good people for the most part. I dont think its going to turn into garbage because a few people may use bad language to express themselves.

Thats when it needs to be pointed out to an Administrator. There are maybe five Mods that are truly active on this site. It's one of those "you can't see them all". I'm positive rules are broken every day, but they are just not seen. I know I drive over the speed limit every single day, but I have only been caught a handful of times in my life. Its not saying it doesnt happen, just whether it gets seen. There is a difference.
