Allen Central’s middle school volleyball team won all three of their matches against Johnson County tonight. The A Team won 21 – 10 and 21 – 8. The B Team won their match in two also, winning 18 – 10 and 18 – 11. Lastly, the 6th grade and under team (C Team) won in two as well, 15 – 9 and 15 – 8. Way to go little Rebels!

The Allen Central Middle School A Team improved its record to 4 – 2 overall and 3 – 1 in conference play by defeating John M. Stumbo in three sets. The Rebels topped the Mustangs in the first set 21 – 11 but were out-played in the second set and lost 15 - 21 However, Allen Central bounced back with a vengeance in the third set winning 21 – 10 and taking the match

The Rebel ‘B’ Team dropped to 2 – 4 on the season, losing the match in three sets. The Allen Central squad took the first set 18 – 13 but dropped the second set 14 – 18 and could not get it together in the third set, losing 13 – 18.

The Allen Central ‘C’ Team’s record went to 4 – 2 on the season, dropping the match in three sets. The little Rebs came out like gang-busters in the first set winning handily 15 – 7 then lost the second set 10 – 15 and the third set 10 – 15.

Allen Central Middle School Volleyball’s ‘A’, ‘B’, and ‘C’ Teams posted victories over the Raiders.

In a very close and exciting ‘A’ Team match, the Rebels won 2- 0. In the first set, Allen Central clung to a two point lead and held off South Floyd, 21 – 19. The Rebels jumped to a 4 – 1 advantage and never relinquished the lead in the second set to win 21 – 16. Allen Central improves to 4 – 1 in conference play and 5 – 2 overall.

The Rebel ‘B’ Team topped the Raiders 2 – 0, 18 – 6 and 18 – 15 to claim their third win against four losses for the season.

The Allen Central ‘C’ Team’s record went to 5 – 2 on the season, winning the match in three sets. In a see-saw set, the Rebs took the first one 15 – 14, lost the second set to the Raiders 11 – 15, then came back to claim the third set 15 - 10.

In the first set, The Rebel ‘A’ Team jumped to a 9 – 1 lead and never looked back winning 21 – 6. In the second set, Allen Central seized a 3 – 1 advantage and never relinquished the lead winning 21 – 13. The Rebels improve to 5 – 1 in conference play and 6 – 2 overall.

The Rebel ‘B’ Team won their 4th match on the season and playing .500 for the year with a 2 - 1 win over Adams. In the first set, Allen Central rolled to an 18 – 1 win but played flat in the second set losing to the Blackcats 18 – 9. In the third and deciding set, the Rebels fell behind 8 – 3, but rallied back to win in an exciting finish 19 – 17.

The Allen Central ‘C’ Team’s record went to 6 – 2 on the season, winning the match in three sets. In a see-saw set, the Rebs took the first one 15 – 12, lost the second set to Adams 9 – 15, then came back to claim the third set 15 - 10.

Allen Central hosts VOLLEYFEST 2010 at the high school, 3 April. Allen takes on Johnson County at 9 a.m. and the Rebels slated to take on the winner at 11:00 a.m.
