Lies, half-truths, and empty promises. Who is he trying to kid with his claim of creating more than 2 million jobs? Nobody that I know believes that and most of the people that I know here are liberals.

How can anybody be stupid enough to make that claim to the nation when the unemployment rate has soared from 7% to over 10% since he took office, with 17-18% being the realistic number?

The man just has no conscience when it comes to telling the truth.

U.S. Congressmen Hal Rogers thoughts on President Obama's State of the Union.

Hal Rogers ® Wrote:“While I welcome President Obama’s efforts to reign in spending and reduce the deficit, I’m skeptical of his new-found rhetoric. This is, after all, the same President who has brought this country to the brink of bankruptcy with his irresponsible spending policies of the last year. His trillion dollar stimulus has been a total failure, with over 3 million jobs lost since its passage. His liberal allies in Congress have increased spending some 85% over the last 2 years, tried to steamroll a disastrous “Cap and Trade” and government run health care bill down our throats, and have proposed raising taxes on our hardworking families. The time for action has long since passed, and I’m disappointed the President is just now coming to the table. We need to focus on creating jobs and helping Americans get back on their feet. That comes with hard work, not another speech filled with empty promises.”

Surprise, surprise... Gomer didn't like Obama's ideas.

I say do away with the whole standing ovation thing... who's standing, who's not, who's applauding, who's not... geez... like trying to read the tea leaves in an old Soviet polit bureau picture... "Please wait until the end to applaud, thereby sparing the American public about ten additional minutes."

The Associated Press apparently has the same impression of Obama's State of the Union that I have. The Associated Press! It is safe to say that the mainstream media's long honeymoon with Barack Obama is coming to an end. Better late than never.

FACT CHECK: Obama and the 'hatchet' job

I wonder if Comcast's acquisition of NBC/MSNBC will result in the muzzling of that channel's stable of Obama sycophants, Ed Shultz, Rachel Maddow, Keith Olbermann, and Chris Matthews? What would an Obama presidency be without an obedient media?

Forget what Gomer thinks for a moment. Your thoughts?

It wasn't Jesus. It wasn't Mao. After I read it more closely, I'll answer your question.

I am glad that Justice Alito quietly called out Obama on his mischaracterization of its ruling on the McCain-Feingold legislation. It was not exactly a Joe Wilson moment, but having a sitting US Supreme Court Justice mouth the words, "Not true" will probably carry more weight.

The disrespect that Obama showed to the Supreme Court was one of the most foolish things that I have seen a president do in a State of the Union speech. Does Obama really want to antagonize the people who will have a chance to decide a fate of a slew of the unconstitutional laws that he is pushing?

Alito will be there long after Obama is gone and people have begun debating whether Obama was a worse president than Jimmy Carter. Obama should have stuck to demonizing Republicans, banks, rich job providers, coal miners, and the US Chamber of Commerce. Picking a fight with the Supreme Court is just plain stupid.

Is it true, Hoot, that Barack Obama once saved your grandmother from a burning building, but only with a malicious motive? I heard that... I think the Secret Service told Kessler. Conservatives pick fights with judges all the time... in fact, made it a major campaign "plank" I seem to remember. It's politics, Hoot. You know, the old grand art form?

He has failed on so many promises, explain to me CM why I should believe anything he says? What has Obama done to prove he is any different from any other politician in Washington?

Arogance, entitlement, and more left wing socialist agenda. Also, how can he claim a spending freeze while at the same time push policies that expand government. The guy just doesn't get it. . . .

I thought is hilarious when Obama made the comment during his speach to the affect that "if you have any better idea's", Bainter from Ohio raised his hand and said "I Do". I don't need Obama to have an "Idea", I need him to have a "Clue"!

Last night he spoke aganist earmarks, in his campaign he spoke aganist earmarks. He signed a bill with 9000 earmarks.

Hal has helped to create more jobs right here in EKY than anyone else. You may not agree with his politics but you have to respect his desire to help the people.

Excellent post. It is not wise for BO to attack the SC. the decision he was whining about is constitutionally sound but, of course, BO wouldn't understand that. And, he blamed everyone and everything but himself for the state of the union. But, then, I'm sure Jimmy Carter is rooting for him.

If he will do away with the tax cuts for companies shipping jobs overseas and give those cuts to companies providing jobs here in America, I can support that.

Will he reign in big banks, big oil, bg insurance, and other corporations who rape this country on a daily basis? Doubtful, but if he can I would be swayed to his side.

What about securing the border and enforcing current immigration laws? Will he do that? or is it just more nice talk?

Will he regulate the health care insurance companies who are making record profits at the expense of the American people? condemning daily people to death because of some error in paperwork? Denying people medicines they need to live?

If he did those 4 things alone, I would vote for him in 2012. Im sure though like the rest of what he has said over the last few years, its complete lies.

P.S. If he even puts in a honest effort to try and do those things, but is stopped by Congress. I will do my part in what elections I can to see that he has the people in Washington to get those things done.
