Mississippi State athletic director Greg Byrne confirmed that defensive line coach David Turner is headed to Kentucky. Turner is the second staff addition, replacing defensive line coach Rick Petri.

He is a fantastic recruiter for his responsible position (DT/DE). He has landed quite a few 4*'s in the past couple seasons and had outrecruited UK to land players like Pernell McPhee. He is widely regarded as a very good developmental coach and a quality recruiter.

Bottom line is he is a step up from Petri and would have been probably the 2nd best recruiter on the staff last year.
