High school basketball highlights: Montgomery girls close out Clark County
Herald-Leader Staff Report No. 9 Montgomery County overcame a one-point halftime deficit before scoring 14 unanswered points to knock off underdog Clark County 51-44 in the 10th Region finals at Harrison County.
The Indians closed out the third quarter with an 8-0 run and scored the first six points of the fourth quarter to take a 44-34 advantage and put the Cardinals away.
Senior guard Mackenzie Lee scored 20 points to lead the Indians, who will play the winner of the 7th Region in the first round of the Sweet Sixteen at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. No. 11 Sacred Heart and Louisville Christian will play for the 7th Region title Saturday at 5 p.m.
Senior Whitney Henry led the Cardinals with 14 points.
