Biblical Genealogy Contradicts Christians' view of evolution and millions of years!

Throughout the Bible, and especially in the book of Numbers, one can find the entire genealogy without a break in generations from Adam to Jesus, and we know that Jesus lived around 2000 years ago by historical evidence. If we know that the oldest man to ever live, according to the Bible, was 969 years - whether you believe that to be the same as years today or not does not matter -- then millions of years don't add up. At best, you could argue the existence of humans is at most around 10,000 years old. So, using the Bible as the basis for the origin of the world, by conviction that the Bible is more accurate than the last two centuries of scientists - who are human and fallible -one can accurately say the earth is only 4,000 to 10,000 years old.

When looking at the evidence as well, using the Bible as your basis, one can make a strong argument for a young Earth by biblical genealogy and the flood of Noah's time as being prime explanations for many of today's archaeological finds.

So, as for christians, can you believe that death and decay came before the sin of man. If so, then why did Jesus have to die to defeat death? Why did He have to die to redeem our sins? What good is faith in Christ if death and decay were part of the world before the existence of man? Jesus accepted the Old Testament scriptures as being truth as well as literal when referring to Noah and the flood as well as Moses. Why can we not?
