We were called the hogs when I played and where we practiced at was called the hog lot. I am not for sure weather or not they do now or not.

When I played the often called us "hogs" or non-skill.

However, one year at Carson-Newman Lineman camp I heard the best nickname for linemen.

They called us "shrooms" or "mushrooms"

They said it was because we eat shit, yet we still grow...in size and mind.

Kind of like a mushroom...ya know.
