Hazard Football
#1
The 1st piece of the great middle school team that Jon Fletcher built has left. What are your thoughts of Maddox leaving hazard. And how many more are going to leave?
#2
Why is he leaving?
#3
Tough to lose a player like this but I don't think they will have to shut the program down.
#4
No but they are more leaving within the next week or two.
#5
Best of luck to them then if they do.
#6
Don’t like the new coach?
#7
He's a running back and wrestler.

Johnson Central is traditionally a very run heavy team and they have a great wrestling program.

Makes sense

Maddox left because of wrestling. Can’t blame him. As far as football goes, no one is bigger than the program, the kids that are there will work and fight to hopefully get the team back to where it needs to be. We wish Maddox nothing but the best and hope he brings home a wrestling state title the next 4 years.

Coach left as soon as the season ended. Hopefully the plan is to hire another and not just let the team go.

Tough break for Bulldogs. Might not hurt them this year but in figure be big void to replace. Maddox is going be really good football player but even better at wrestling . So I’m with everyone else . It makes sense go to Johnson Central wrestle.

Maddox and his daddy needed to leave Hazard. Haven’t been nothing but DRAMA since they joined the program. If anything that will help the bulldogs in the future. The kid you need to worry about leaving is these up and coming 8th graders such as Gannon. As well as the Gavin Johnson kid. Those 2 will be the next D1 athletes out of the 14th region.

Heard that there are more players from the current 8th grade class that could be headed elsewhere. Any truth on this?

I don’t know why anyone of those kids would go anywhere else. Most of those kids are gonna get significant PT this season. Don’t believe it would be smart.

And playing as a freshman is tough. Like you said many of them would see a lot of PT early on as freshmen.

Hard to see it happening
But in todays world of transfers
Anything is possible
Great coaching hire and freshman being able to play is a big reason I don’t think they will move
