Wayne County 2024
#1
Dumphord/Edwards returns, 4/5 starters lost on the Oline, many good returning young defensive talents. How are you liking the teams chances? Seems like they have a good talent pool of incoming Freshman.

Wayne County seems to always produce some great talent.

They return 8-9 starters on both sides of the ball.

They have lots of great talent that they develop in their system. Dumphord and Edwards are some of the best players in the area. Dumphord is hard to handle as they put him about everywhere and score in many ways and Edwards makes good decisions and has excellent pocket awareness. Their young classes coming up are stocked with talent as they have been very competitive at the middle school level. Replacing the oline graduates will be difficult but they always seem to be solid in this area.

On defense they were playing lots of young kids. They do return both of their leading tacklers, Baker and Wright which is a plus. With their youth last year they will only get better.

They play in a tough district and have one of the toughest regions in the state when it comes playoff time. Can they make the leap? Only time will tell. Coach Guffey has them working hard I'm sure. He is one of the best young coaches out there.
