Ranking the 12 teams in this years State Championships
#1
Since we do not have an overall winner in Kentucky football with our 6 classes. I thought it would be interesting to see what all of the BGR members thought the teams would rank out 1-12.

Here are my 12.

 1. Boyle County

 2. Trinity

 3. Bryan Station

 4. Bowling Green

 5. Mayfield

 6. Christian Academy-Louisville

 7. Pikeville

 8. Cooper

 9. Covington Catholic

10. Bell Co.

12. Raceland

This is the 2nd game of the State Championship's that the RPI did not work to put the two best teams in a class in the final. Just as Corbin and Boyle should have played in the final. I think after this game it is obvious that the 2 best teams in 6A this year were Frederick Douglass and Trinity who played a heck of a game last week at Trinity. Just as Boyle and Corbin did in week 3 of the playoffs. Both teams were hurt by having to find games out of state.
Nah.. T and Male are the top 2 teams in 6A. Quit being a homer for bio med HS lol

I think you must have got cut at Douglass or played on a team in the city that thumped you several times I don't know. But saying Trinity and Male were the 2 best teams in 6A doesn't carry much weight since Douglass went to Male and beat them 2 weeks ago. We get a kick at Douglass about people like you who are just jealous and if you could do what they have done in 7 seasons you would take it in a heart beat. We are glad to have people out there like you that worry so much about the Broncos. lol
Jealous? LMBO! Yeah I’m sure Lex city are jealous on how bio med HS gets away with getting players moved over there for 7 years lol.. word of advise, this is 6A, like I said in the past no more playing all Lex city cupcakes and that 5A district cupcakes you all played in the past. You all are gonna have to fill your schedule with upper tier 4A, 5A and 6A teams and out of states.

That isn't written in stone, obviously. I am very impressed with OCath's quarterback.
Remember I've only seen both teams play one time.

Boyle
Trinity
CAL (can argue for BG)
THEN THE REST!

Let Corbin , Boyle, and Trinity battle it out in a three team round robin. I'd say it would finish : Corbin 2-0 , Boyle 1-1 , Trinity 0-2. CORBIN - overall state champ.

Things to remember, BG lost to LCA. LCA was beaten by Mayfield. OC was right there with Mayfield. It was obvious to anyone watching, 1a teams were way down this year. CAL lost to LCA, who again lost to Mayfield. If Bell County had a passing game, they would be much higher. I was thoroughly impressed with their tenacity.

Where does the loss to PT fit into the equation?  Mayfield lost to them and Cov Cath beat PT.

They don’t. They weren’t one of the 12 teams at state. Therefore they weren’t part of the discussion.

Apparently some are not reading the title of the thread. We are ranking the 12 teams that were at state. Therefore, PT or Corbin we’re not there, so, they are not part of the discussion.

It's very difficult to compared past opponents.  By that theory Mayfield lost to Paducah Tilghman who lost to Covington Catholic which you had #9 on your list.

Apparently not.  You brought up LCA on post #16.

Hatz brought up Paducah Tilghman to compare past games just like you did with LCA.  Same theory.  PT beat Mayfield who lost to Cov Cath.

You are exactly correct rookie57.  But this was the first game I got to see both of these teams play.  And I swear, it was Atwell to Currico (sp?) ALL THE TIME.  I was impressed with that duo and that's why I listed them like that.
