Jason Frakes' All Class Top 10 (Courier-Journal)
#1
I like a lot of Jason Frakes' stuff in the Courier-Journal, but he seriously doesn't have Corbin among his top ten teams regardless of class this week?  Note he did these after Friday's games so BG hadn't taken a loss to LCA as of yet.  Still, I can't imagine the world where I'd take Ballard over Corbin right now.

1. Trinity
2. St. X
3. Frederick Douglass
4. Male
5. Boyle County
6. Bowling Green
7. Cov Cath
8. Scott County
9. Manual
10. Ballard

It’s my opinion that Corbin, BG and Lex Christian belong in the top 10.

The 6 A teams Have a lot of kids! Overall they player tougher opponents week in and week out. But I don’t believe their top 22 are always better as portrayed in this poll.
#3
Corbin is top 3 easily and honestly they have a argument for number 1, to not have them top 10 is laughable.
#4
Bowling Green lost to LCA and LCA is not up there..... Who is Jason Frakes and who let him release this embarrassing list? Big Grin

Also, to everyone's point, where is Corbin.

As someone who watched Douglas play week 1, they are not number three on that list thus far.

Once again, not a corbin fan and never will be. But the defense is real. Everyone knows when the good teams go head to head, one guy usually stands out on the defensive side and wins the game, like the DE for boyle last year at state. Now imagine having 2, one on each side. Cutter boley may be sensational but i have to say the smith twins would have a bigger impact at UK than boley. So i may actually agree with him. We will know in 3 weeks.

What a joke ………… Corbins defense is nasty with the smith twins …..granted they played Hughes !!!!!!but those two are completely unstoppable…….. and the rest of the squad will flat out hit you in the mouth too !!!!
I absolutely can not wait until week 5 !!!!! The stadium opener!!!!!!! Douglas at the puppy pound ,at historic Campbell field, sponsored by cc’s furniture /Tim short….. I will have a whole day planned here ….. king buffet, the mint , then the game !!!!!!!man it’s gonna be like Christmas!!!!!!

I wouldn’t go that far. We’ve showed potential for a top 5 or 6. But unless teams like BC and those lose or have some close games with weaker teams. It’s not deserved.

Better get to the mint early if you’re going to the one in Corbin. It’s on the smaller side as it sits right now. Not complaining, how many people have a semi-casino in a 5 min drive. Just giving you a heads up. But the food is good there and wburg both

Trinity and X will beat Corbin and Boyle by 3 or 4 TDs every time. I’m sure T and X would love to schedule those two every year. Would be two for sure Ws on their schedule for each year. Boyle would play them better than Corbin on a consistent basis.

You, sir or madam. Have lost your mind. That first sentence is foolish talk.  Would they win the majority of the time. Yes. But 3-4 touchdowns everytime. NO WAY. Especially Boyle.

I think T, X, Male would beat them also those teams are just different, last year was a weird year for those schools. I do not think 3 or 4 touchdowns every time though. I think what would hurt Boyle's is all their athletes, go both ways and they are rather small. That pounding play after play would wear on them Imo. They usually have the Douglas teams of last year every year, and St X, knocked Douglas around pretty good in a scrimmage last year if not mistaken. No disrespect to Boyle whatsoever, because what they do and have done is amazing to me.

I agree, those Louisville powers are just built differently.  Most years the big 3 would smack the best teams in the smaller classes.  I remember when Highlands was on their run they would get taken to the woodshed by Trinity and Male in the preseason and go on to have a championship season.  There’s nothing wrong with admitting they there are just different levels and the Louisville powers simply play a different game then the rest of the state more often than not.

Corbin has 1 win and 4 losses all-time against X .    Only once did X beat Corbin by 3 TDs (19-38)

The average score in the five games played was  10.6 - 22.2   in favor of X .

That's why they call me Old School.

I'm as big of a Bowling green fan on this board as there is... that being said, aint no way no how they should be top 10 currently. I realize the list was made before the game. Losing to LCA isnt the problem, while not ideal, its how they lost... 800 yards of offense... only been done maybe twice in the state of kentucky before it happened. That is not the sign of a team competing for a championship. These issues have rolled over from the scrimmages with Scott Co and CAL, and unless MAJOR improvements are made, they will continue to be steamrolled on defense. Not deserving at this present time of a top 10 ranking or the number one spot in class 5A

Three times:

Cawood rolled up 864 against Bell County

Caldwell County had 850 yards against Calloway County

Henderson County gained 821 yards against Ohio County

Dubious stat, for sure, in giving up 800+ yards.  Be interesting to see how many Boyle gives up. I bet it's less than half that but we'll see.

Doubt if they wouldn't play, probably a conflict, not with the teams they play year in and year out.
